My top 10 classroom wish list

1. A smart board I feel that it is very important for me to have a smart board; I will be able to have a wider range of providing subject information to my students which include visuals, metacognitive games; herby I can tackle different learning styles of students such as accommodating the visual learner, or making sure all students see instructions clearly.

2. 1 large Couch I will have a Library in my classroom, and am wishing for a large couch so students can read with comfort.

3. A library book collection A full Library collection will help with Literacy centers, read-alouds, independent reading, minilessons, etc.

4. Tablets for every student To be current with technology, I wish for every student to have a tablet so they can research and learn about technology, other classroom related subjects, and information consisting of our world and surroundings.

5. A folder-bin for every student that can hold works of writing, projects, etc. Bins for every student where their work, homework, projects, and writing in progress can be stored.

6. Crayons/color pencils/tape/glue sticks/highlighters for annotating These are essentials that should be in every classroom and always available to students.

7. Plenty of writing paper/composition books These Journals can be used as Diaries, Dialogue entries, Double-entries, Learning Logs, student writer’s notebooks, and Response Logs.

8. 2 Large Area rugs These area rugs not only will serve as an aesthetic home feel to students, but also as instructional purposes. I can implement these rugs to lesson plans where I will teach Literacy structuring. They can also serve as lesson game enhancers by categorizing the importance of letters.

9. Extra copy paper As a former teacher I can appreciate the importance of extra copy paper. With only so much paper provided to teachers, it is always essential to have plenty on hand. Copy paper can serve as assessment material, worksheet learning handouts, etc. Students can use this paper to create Flipbooks for learning strategies or create other means of learning essentials.

10. Large block paper and a display chart This display chart can be used in several small group instructions. It can be used in the Library throughout a read-aloud by documenting questions or answers that students might have. It is also mobile which means it can be moved throughout the classroom to different stations. The finished sheets can be displayed around the classroom to help students remember what was learned.
