NURSE PRACTITIONER

A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) who has additional education and training in a specialty area, such as family practice or pediatrics. NPs perform comprehensive and focused physical examination in addition to ordering/ interpreting diagnostic test and prescribing medications and therapeutic treatments.

My Reaction It seems as the years go on, the need for more people in the medical field increases. It is very important for me to go into a field where there will be a need jobs no matter where you are (since everyone gets sick)

ANESTHESIOLOGIST ASSISTANT

These professionals provide very important assistance to the anesthesiologist in accompanying the patient before, during and after anesthesia to ensure quality and continuity of care before and after surgery. The work of an anesthesiologist assistant (AA) directly contributes to the success of surgical operations by ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of the patient.

My Reaction- No matter where you go, there will always be people in need for skilled personnel to deliver anesthesia and monitor them while a doctor performs a surgery. It is also nice to have options where you work, for many anesthesiologist have the choice to work in hospitals, dentist offices and can specialize in almost any medical environment they wish.

• MY REACTION-I find it very interesting to study how disease spreads across a population or reign, but it seems that this study requires more laboratory work than I wish to be involved in. I would prefer to work more with people than in the lab. I do like the medical aspect of the job
