Introduction
This is a collection of my compositions that I created
during this school year. So Far, I have written five
compositions.
In the first composition, I described the profile of my
best friend, with the help of the exercises of unit 1.
In the second composition, I wrote about "My favorite
restaurant", this topic I liked because I expressed
about what I like to eat.
In the third composition, I wrote about "Romeo and
Juliet", this book is my favorite, because I like the
novels of tragedy and love.
In the fourth composition, I invented a conversation
with my best friend about the topic our company, I
described one series of instructions for us, these
helped arrange a conference.
In the fifth composition, I invented an email, about
my participation in a sport event; in that event, the

organization requested volunteers, so I send my
request.
In the six composition, I talk about "Mobile phones"
and "Facebook", I give you an explanation about
those the main concepts of these topics, secondly I
explain advantages and disadvantages finally I give my
conclusion.
In the seven composition, I describe like is my life
because I think is very important that you know the
main activities for my, like is my company, studies and
time for fun.
Finally in the eight composition, I write two emails
where I recommend at my best friends, various places
that they can visit when they are in a trip.

Learn Reflection For my readers:
The purpose of this book is to show my compositions,
which I have made in the present school year, for me
is very important this project, because I can show my
learning in the subject of English, I thank the teacher
because without your help this project would not be
the same.
Also I thank my family and my friends, because they
support me in my projects.
I consider the English is very important in my life
because is a form of communication, I like the
language.
I hope that my readers enjoy this book. Thank you.

Unit 1: Individual & Society
Staff Profile
Name: Axel Maycu Lemus Munguia
Position: Student and worker.
He's a student of the Escuela
Nacional Preparatoria 1 Gabino
Barreda.
He's from Mexico. He lives in
Tlahuac with his family. He was
born in July thirteen of 1997, in Mexico City. At present he's
16 years old. He's a regular student and good at
skateboarding. He's practices soccer and boxing. He's like
his father.
In the weekends, he works loading gas containers with his
uncle; because he wants have money to buy clothes.
We met in the school, so he's my best friend, because he
helps me with my problems.

My Favorite Restaurant
My favorite restaurant is Italianni's, because there serve
pasta, pizza and wine.
The restaurant is originally from Italy.
They use always pasta, cheese and tomatoes of ingredients.
My favorite dish is “chicken with cheese covered with
tomatoes sauce”
They serve delicious desserts. My favorite dessert is
strawberry ice cream.
I usually go to the branch Italianni's Villa Coapa.

Romeo and Juliet
The author of this novel is William Shakespeare.
The topic principal of this novel is tragedy.
The novel is set in Verona, Italy, approximately in the XIV
century.
The main characters are Romeo and Juliet.
The book tells about the story of Romeo and Juliet, two
lovers, which despite the opposition from their families,
they decided to fight for their love, until they got married in
secret, various problems, including family rivalry, caused the
suicide of two young lovers.

Hi Maycu. I’m Memo.
I’m writing you, because I want to arrange the exhibition of
our company. I will arrive by airplane at 7 o’clock. At the
airport of Guadalajara I will take a taxi from the company to
get to the Auditorium of M AND M RECORDS. There, we will
get together with Adolfo (engineer) and ask about the new
projects. In the afternoon call me and tell me about the new
projects. At night we will get together again for the
conference in the Auditorium.

Hi Mr. George Ellis.
I'm Guillermo Sanchez de la Cruz.
I send my email with my information, because I'm
interested in the International Sporting Event, I love sports,
in special soccer, my favorite team is Chivas, it is a team
from Mexico. Anyway, I enjoy helping all the people, so I
want to participate in the event.
I live in Mexico City, I speak Spanish. I'm available in May,
June and July, because I have school holidays.
I'm sixteen years old, but that is not important, I have
worked in others events. I hope to be accepted for event.

Mobile Phones
Introduction
Mobile phones are a tool, because they allow us to talk,
send messages, listen to music and at present we can
search information, all this by smart phones. Mobile phones
change the lives of people, because there are new
applications, these help people, for example the GPS, is a
good application to locate places.
At present there are different operating systems, for
example Android is a good and cheap system, because most
programs are free, but also some are expensive, depending
the application. Also, there is IOS, an operating system by
Apple, mobile phones of this brand are IPhone and it’s a
good smartphones.
Advantages
A mobile phone…
gives us an easy means of communication.
is equipped with various applications.
facilitates communication over long distances.
is thin and very light.

is cheap or expensive.
Disadvantages
At present people buy mobile phones without
considering the great tool it is.
It produces distractions among people.
It produces radiation.
People misuse it.
Conclusion
The mobile phone is a communication tool; it should be
used with caution if this is not so we can misuse our mobile
phone, so you can suffer distractions. Another point to
consider is not to listen to music trough headphones at high
volume, because we can not perceive sounds from the
outside, also one should not become addicted to the games
and applications that the mobile phone has.

Introduction
Facebook is a social networking website created by Mark
Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin. Originally a site for
students at Harvard University, but it opened to anyone
with an email account.
In mid-2007 launched versions in French, German and
Spanish translated by users so unpaid, primarily to fuel its
expansion outside the United States, since its users are
concentrated in the United States, Canada and the UK.
Facebook has over 900 million members, and translations
into 70 languages. In January 2013, Facebook reached 1230
million users, of which there are over 600 million mobile
users. Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico and the United States
are the countries with the most users, however, and there
are users who have more than one account.

Conclusion
Facebook is a good application for interact with your
friends, because you can share photos, videos, and
publications, at present the people use Facebook for much
time and it is very dangerous because we can be addicts at
this application.

Free Time
Sentences
It is certainly true that we have a lot more free time
than our grandparents did.
I think that people could use their free time more
wisely.
I believe that it is important for families to spend time
together.
We should spend more of our free time doing exercise
and outdoor activities.
I don’t think that there are enough things for young
people to do in their free time.
Introduction
Free time is an important factor in our life, because in this
time we can do more activities for example we can relax,
read, cook, etc. but these activities are fun when we enjoy
them.
Development
When we have free time, we can stay with our family
because this an important factor, also we can practice

sports, but I consider that watching television for much time
is very dangerous for we, because we don’t enjoy our
family.
Conclusion
When we have free time we don’t enjoy our family and we
do more things.

Important things for my…
Company
This is my principal goal in my life, because I dream of
developing in the are of music , for example I like all music,
so with my company I would like to search new talents and I
will give opportunities for that artist who shows the talent.
Studies
This is a great factor in my life, because firstly I would like to
study Medicine to help people, secondly, probably I will
study Architecture, because it is my passion and I like to
design structures, finally I would like to study Journalism,
because I like the criminal investigation, but my principal
goal in the studies is Medicine.
Books and Music
These are factors that help me, because when I listen to
music I relax and my favorites songs are very interesting,
the books are my friends, because in them I find stories, at
present I am reading books the drug trafficking in Mexico,
every day I am reading more or less twenty pages, because
the stories are amazing.

Enjoying life (time for fun)
Sports
My favorite sport is soccer, so I play soccer three times a
week, generally in the school with my friends and in my free
time.
Holidays
This is my favorite time of the year, because I work and I
earn money, so I buy new clothes or things that I need for
my life, also I design structures like in architecture.
Conclusion
I think that although that my life is very busy, I enjoy it,
because I have goals that in the future I accomplish, but for
now I have to learn new things for my life.

Unit 8: Home & Away
Visiting Acapulco

Hi Maycu.
I recommend you to visit Acapulco, because I remember
that the first time that I visited Acapulco, I stayed in
Vindeza, that is a villa, where there are departments,
libraries, swimming pools and soccer fields and it is a good
option to stay. Independently to that you stay in Vindeza, I
insist that you must visit Acapulco because there are
different and wonderful beaches, for example Puerto
Marquez is a good place where you can swim or take a boat
and you will enjoy the sea.
At nights you can visit different nights clubs, bars and
restaurants, also you can walk in the seashore and take
photos with your family or friends.
The main attraction in Acapulco is “La Quebrada”, because
it is a zone where the people can see the divers jump into
the sea.
I hope that you enjoy your trip.

Visiting Mexico City

Hello Victor.
If you are in Mexico, you can visit Mexico City, because it is
the main city of Mexico, there are different places that are
wonderful for example Xochimilco is a place where there
are canals and trajineras, there are different types of
Mexican food and drinks, also you can listen to mariachis.
In the afternoons we can go to Coyoacan where you can
enjoy delicious ice creams and stuffed churros.
At nights you can visit downtown, an eat many things in the
different restaurants around downtown.
If you want to buy typical clothes, you can go to the shops
of typical clothes, but also you can go to the different
museums of Mexican culture, for example “El Templo
Mayor”, but you can to visit different places where there
are events like concerts, movies, theater, etc.
