Dear Ms. Elia:
Based on the following information, this is to request that the Education Department review and determine if students attending schools under the jurisdiction of your agency are receiving medical care in compliance with applicable standards and guidelines, and that I be provided with the results of the review.
This is a screenshot I took today from the Internet site of LifeVac LLC of Springfield Gardens, NY, which manufactures and sells a medical device called LifeVac. My understanding is that some of these schools are under the jurisdiction of your agency.
To my knowledge, no peer-reviewed medical journal has ever published an article about a research study evaluating the LifeVac. Therefore it's unclear if the device has been properly tested and/or determined to be safe and/or effective, hence this outreach.
