The Teenie Weenies – 09/20/1914

“Pardon me, but would you do me a very great favor?” asked the Teenie Weenie lady of fas

the cowboy. “It would be a great pleasure to do anything your ladyship may command,’ ansthe cowboy, as he took off his big hat and made a sweeping bow.

“Well, you see I am all out of face powder and I know where there is some, but I need help toand I thought perhaps you might help me,” blushingly replied the lady of fashion.

“I shall be charmed to help you,” said the cowboy as he ran off in search of some of the

Weenies to help him.Very soon the Teenie Weenies had crawled to the top of a dressing table, and there they fohuge box of face powder. The carpenter climbed into the box and shoveled the powder into

weenie buckets and wash tubs which had been brought to carry it home.

The dunce climbed up into a hair receiver and got himself so tangled up in the long hair thacook and the Turk had to cut him free with a pair of large scissors they found on the table.

“Ha-ha-ha!” roared the policeman as he watched the struggling dunce trying to free himself frolong hairs. “That’s the funniest thing I ever saw,” and the Teenie Weenies laughed so heartilyfairly shook the table.

“Me have big heap plenty war paint,” chuckled the Indian, as he dragged a big piece of rouge a

The Teenie Weenies Have a Fire

As janitor and truant officer of the Teenie Weenie school, the Old Soldier was kept very busy during the winter days. Forthe paths had to be cleared of snow, the schoolrooms kept clean, and great piles of wood had to be cut to keep the old hat

warm.

Getting firewood was one of the hardest jobs, for it took as much as a whole clothespin or ten to fifteen matches to keepthe greedy little stove filled on cold days. To make the work easier for the Old Soldier, the General decided to let one of theolder pupils look after the stove during school hours. The Dunce, being the oldest student, was chosen to do this work.

“Now,” said the Old Soldier as he told the Dunce how to take care of the fire, “don’t ever put more than two matches intothe stove at once, for if you do it will make the fire too hot.”

The Dunce looked after the fire for several days in good shape, but one cold day he thought that two matches wouldhardly be enough, so he stuffed several more into the stove.

Soon the little pipe, where it ran through the hat to the chimney outside, grew red hot and set fire to the roof. Thechildren, being used to fire drill, quickly formed into line and marched out of the hat. The Old Soldier, who happened tobe near, sweeping the paths, ran in and rang the school bell, which was used as a fire bell, too, as loud and as fast as hecould.

In the very shortest time the Teenie Weenie automobile fire engine and hook and ladder came racing up to theschoolhouse. The tiny firemen quickly put out the fire by pouring about a teacup of water on to it from the big hose.

“How’d the fire start?” asked the General of the Old Soldier.

“The Dunce is the cause of it,” answered the Old Soldier. “He had too big a fire in the stove.”
