ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL AND THE ROYAL

PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA (RPO)

First-class concerts with the RPO regularly take

place at both the school and in London. in 2015,

an extraordinary concert at the Royal Festival

Hall involved over 500 Whitgift boys performing

alongside the RPO and the Whitgift-minster

choral society. With a concert booked for march

2020, there is much to look forward to.

CADOGAN HALL

Whitgift musicians regularly visit this world-class

London concert venue, where choirs and orchestras

have already performed two major events in

recent years. These concerts demonstrated the

might of Whitgift’s massed choral partnerships, the

talents of the school’s soloists and winners of the

Whitgift international music competition, and

the special link between the Royal Philharmonic

Orchestra and the Whitgift chamber Orchestra.

GOODWOOD HOUSE

Whitgift musicians have twice visited the

historic Goodwood House in West sussex, first

in 2003 and, most recently, in April 2017, when

over 130 pupils took part in the East meets West

Arts Day. Both events showcased an exceptional

talent across a wide range of art and co-

curricular activities, with musical performances

from the Whitgift symphony Orchestra,

choristers, Brass Quintet and string Quartet, as

well as stunning solo performances.

FAIRFIELD HALLS CONCERTS

The annual Autumn collection concert

showcases the wealth and breadth of music at

Whitgift, with hundreds of local primary school

children enjoying a morning concert, and with a

spectacular evening performance for Whitgift

parents and special guests. Whitgift is the only

school in the uK with an initiative that provides

an annual concert performed by pupils for local

primary school children.

CHAMBER CONCERTS

Throughout the year, several prestigious concerts

take place at the school and other unique

venues. Recent concerts have been at

canterbury cathedral, st. mary’s Perivale, the

master’s Lodge at Trinity college cambridge, the

Bulgarian Embassy and chelmsford cathedral.

cHORAL cONcERTs

The Whitgift chamber choir and the Whitgift-

minster choral society regularly perform

large-scale choral works at venues such as

Westminster Abbey, st. Paul’s cathedral and

st. George’s, Hanover square, and have a

reputation for choral excellence. A special link

exists with croydon minster; the minster

choral scholars, sing services three times a week

in the splendour of this magnificent building.

Whitgift musicians perform at numerous prestigious venues including:

the Royal Festival Hall; the Royal Albert Hall; cadogan Hall; Fairfield Halls;
