The Instrumental Music Program complements the Arts’ KLA and extends the musical skills of students who wish to pursue music beyond the classroom. Instrumental tuition is offered during school time by professional tutors who are highly skilled in their specialist areas. Tuition fees apply. INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC LESSONS Students who are enrolled in the Instrumental Music Program receive weekly lessons from professional music tutors. The lessons are of 30 minute duration and usually work on a rotating timetable. Tuition is available in the areas of Brass / Woodwind / Percussion / Voice / Strings / Guitar / Piano. Most of our Music staff work across both campuses. PERFORMANCES (Solo and Ensemble) Performance is an integral part of learning a musical instrument, we seek to provide as many performance opportunities as possible. Faith Ensembles and Choirs compete throughout the year in competitions and Eisteddfods. All instrumental music students are encouraged to perform solo or in an ensemble. We have several major College events where our students perform, as well as other College and Community events that occur throughout the year that provide further performance opportunities. MUSICAL - Junior School This bi-annual event has seen students and staff produce the Junior version of the great Gilbert and Sullivan Musical ‘Pirates of Penzance’ in 2012 and Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ in 2014. This provides a great opportunity for students in Year 4 - 6 to develop stage craft skills. 2016 will see the Junior School performing Alice in Wonderland Jnr. MUSICAL - Middle/Senior School The Musical tradition continues to grow at Middle and Senior School from productions of ‘Bugsy Malone’ 2011 to ‘Godspell in 2013’. Last year the staff and students worked extremely hard to create and develop a strong presentation of musical ‘Henry’. FAME - Faith Arts and Music Evening Since 2009, the Music Department has combined with Drama and Art Departments to produce an annual evening of high quality performances and displays for the College Community. As our ensembles continue to develop in musical maturity and skill, this evening will continue to be a highlight of the College year. FUNFEST - Junior, Middle and Senior School Held annually, Funfest is well-known throughout the district as a time for our College to invite the public in for a day of fun. The Music Department provides a full day of musical entertainment on the Prep Courtyard Stage, with Choirs, Bands, Ensembles, solo instrumental and solo vocalists performing.     PERFORMANCESOur Instrumental Ensembles and Choirs support College events and weekly assemblies. They also represent the College on special occasions such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.

    Our Ensembles are regularly invited to perform at local events, retirement villages and shopping centres.

    VOCAL ENSEMBLES MIDDLE/SENIOR SCHOOLS 

    Voices of Faith - a mixed vocal group comprising of boys and girls from Year 7 to 12.   Voices of Faith are the official Eisteddfod chorus of Faith and enjoy performing a variety of repertoire.    

    Cantata - is an auditioned Middle/Senior Schools vocal group, comprising of mixed voices from Year 9 to 12.  Cantata sing a variety of repertoire from Gospel, Contemporary and A Capella.

    CHORAL MUSICChoral Music is a very important part of the Music Program at Faith. The Junior School Classroom Music Program is vocally based, starting in Prep. It has a strong emphasis on in-tune singing of folk songs and composed children’s songs through the Junior years. This provides a vocal basis for vocal ensembles that are developing throughout the College.
