Winter Men's Breakfast Study Beginning Saturday, January 19 at 7:30 am We're starting up our men's breakfast again with a book, Spiritual Rhythm: Being with Jesus Every Season of Your Soul, by Mark Buchanan, that has been highly recommended. Copies will be available at our breakfast in January. Cost $15. Here are some excerpts from the book: - This book is about four distinct seasons—not in the natural world but within us. It explores the cycles in our hearts that mark out seasonal rhythms in our lives: flourishing and fruitful, stark and dismal, cool and windy, or everything coming up new. - The seasons I’m describing are not the seasons of aging. Interesting as that is, it’s not what I’ve set my hand to here. Our souls, our hearts, have seasons, too. - Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason, nothing to predict or prevent or produce one season or another. But sometimes we do have a say or a hand in it. And always, we can steward the season we find ourselves in. Just as farmers plow in one season, plant in another, irrigate in another, harvest in another, and let the fields lie fallow in yet another, so there are activities and inactivities that fit our hearts’ seasons. We ignore this to our peril. All men of Trinity, mark your calendars and join us as we begin a new a book study about the different spiritual seasons of life. Trinity’s Mission Statement : Living With God at the Center

Individually and together, we honor God at the center of our lives by: Meeting Jesus in authentic community-Community.

Seeking to know God better-Communion. Learning God’s truths-Roots.

Serving God’s purposes through our life mission-Mission. Welcoming the deep changes that the Spirit desires within us-Renewal.

We invite others to worship with us and to join us on this journey.

Office Hours at Trinity: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Monday through Thursday; Closed Fridays

NEW TO TRINITY? Helping people to worship God is important to us. We believe that worship is not a passive receiving, but an active encounter with Jesus who stoops to meet us as we worship. The Mostly Liturgical Worship Service at 9:00 am uses liturgy, hymns, worship songs, and silence to guide us in the worship of God. The 10:35 am Church From Scratch Worship Service blends all different types of music, arts, liturgy and free-form worship to help guide newcomers and experienced alike in the worship of God. During the Summer and on Family Worship Sunday, selected Sundays throughout the year, we come together as one worshiping family at 9:30 am.

A Nursery, (downstairs) is available for children two and under at both worship hours. A “Family Room” on the right side of the Sanctuary is available, as well.

Sunday Morning Children’s Christian Education

9:00 & 10:35: Children join their families in the Sanctuary for opening worship and “Learning with Our Children”, then proceed downstairs for class. The sign-in sheet at both hours is located in the main hallway outside the Sanctuary doors; sign-out downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Parents must sign their children in and out of all classes every Sunday and pick them up promptly after worship. This is particularly important after the 9 am service so our teachers can put away materials and set up for the 10:35 class. Thank you for supporting our teachers; you are always welcome to visit our classrooms.

Adult Christian Education Sunday morning and Midweek opportunities are available; check the calendar or contact Robin Olschner ([email protected]) for details.

Youth Ministries School year schedule - 9:00 am, Sunday Morning Youth Sunday School (upstairs) for Junior & Senior High Youth. At 10:35 am, all Youth are encouraged to attend worship.

Pray for Our Trinity Family & Friends:

Arvada First Responders Please keep our local police and firefighters in your prayers as they serve our community.

John & Christy Burton . . . Lois Phillips’ neighbors who recently visited Trinity; John has had surgery since, followed by breathing complications and still hospitalized. Please pray for him to improve so he can be transferred to rehab.

Yvonne Herbert . . . Recently diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. Her medical team feels it’s very treatable; she began chemo on December 4. Please pray for her to be able to tolerate the treatment, for wisdom, and for God’s courage, comfort and healing.

Tim K. . . . Friend of Denise Wright’s son, accidental pain medication overdose. Has been ICU, will be moved to long term care facility. Making slow progress: breathing on his own, stretches, opens eyes a few times a day. Has a feeding tube and needs dialysis. Please keep praying.

Howard Kerr . . . Receiving home hospice care for better pain management; he would welcome visitors, just call ahead. Continue to pray for his comfort and peace, for him and his family to feel God’s presence.

Shirley Kuhlman . . . Russ Coley’s mother-in-law, in hospice care. Thank you for your continued prayers for Shirley and family to feel God’s presence, comfort and peace in this time of transition to life eternal.

Carolyn Johnson . . . Daughter of Janet Liming, has been dealing with another infection of unknown source. Pray for guidance of doctors, treatment options, and healing.

Andrew Pfaff . . . Health is failing; please pray for peace and comfort for Andy, Libby, Susan and the rest of their family.

Donna Nevin . . . Just diagnosed with breast cancer. Surgery is scheduled for January, followed by radiation therapy. Prayers are appreciated for a quick return to good health.

Janet Sipas . . . Mike Losievsky’s sister, open heart surgery went well. Continued prayers for a full recovery. Thank you for your prayers.

Jim & Shirley Smith . . . Please continue to pray for Jim and Shirley. Shirley recently had a fall, not rebounding very well. Is very weak; it’s difficult for Jim.

Meg T. . . . Co-worker of Kelsey Campbell, recently diagnosed with breast cancer; has opted for a mastectomy. Please pray for successful surgery.

LeeAnnWarnaka . . . Grandmother, Patricia Sheasley, broke her arm, now in rehab. Prayers for a full recovery. Also for friend Heidi who has a brain tumor. Prayers for wisdom and treatment options, healing, and peace.

Lauren Wells . . . father of Olschner’s daughter-in-law Annalisa, UPDATE: After a successful aortic valve replacement surgery, Lauren has now been diagnosed with lymphoma. He is in Santiago, Chile; Annalisa and Olschners' middle son, Kevin were able to go there to be with Lauren and with Annalisa's mother, Terri. They have had to switch hospitals to treat both a high fever over the past weekend and to start his treatment for the lymphoma. Prayers for stabilizing Lauren's health and ultimately treating the lymphoma, and prayers for Annalisa, Kevin and Terri as they support Lauren during this difficult time. The Wells live 14 hours away from Santiago but need to be in Santiago for medical care, so they are staying at an Air BNB during this time.

Don Wirth . . . Elizabeth Sandeman’s brother, just diagnosed with glioblastoma, a brain cancer. He has been told that he is terminal as there isn’t anything more that can be done. Please pray for God’s peace and comfort for Don and all of his family, including Elizabeth.
