The Bromfords School Music department is THE MOST exciting and enjoyable place to be. All students in years 7, 8 and 9 enjoy one lesson of Music every week. They are also invited to attend numerous clubs and groups such as The Bromfords Singers vocals group and Band B for instrumentalists. We also offer practise rooms for to book out at lunch for extra enthusiastic musicians! On top of this we have three peripatetic music teachers who offer individual lessons in drums, piano, keyboard, vocals, guitar and bass guitar. Our dedicated music prefects are on duty at lunchtimes to assist with clubs and up keeping the departments musical instruments, anyone who would like to book a room at lunch should speak to them.

At GCSE level the students start the course with performance based mini projects and have the opportunity to attend a Drama/Music residential trip to London’s West End. The course follows the OCR Syllabus which consists of four units which break down into 60% coursework, 15% practical exam and 25% listening exam. Our students study a wide range of music from pop ballads to gamelan to the tango. The music technology provision at Bromfords has been growing in recent years and we now offer fantastic recording facilities using imac software such as
Garageband and Logic. We also have a PC suite which runs Sibelius music notation software. Music students at Bromfords also have plenty of chances to perform throughout the year with the Christmas Carol Concert, the school production,
