Assessment Criteria & Feedback:

Curriculum Standard: Assessment Criteria: (Ability to: …) Evidence: How will you identify what they have learnt and how

will you record or note this

Play as an ensemble, in teams. The Jam Session activity – Will show their sense of playing

playing pitched notes to a rhythm and also their ability to play

as an ensemble. This will be recorded onto their marking

criteria table (appendix 1).

Record music Students will play their 8 bar recording to the class immediately

after their Jam Session performance. Their individual recording

score will be added to the marking criteria table.

Move to the music/rhythm

The warm down activity allows students to show their

understanding and interpretation of rhythm, pitch and chord

Students Background Knowledge: Students have been learning music notation and theory from grade prep. They have now used GarageBand twice

to create music. They are already very familiar with using iPads in other areas of the school curriculum.

Resources and Materials: An iPad and headphones for each student and teacher, one iPad to projector connector, one projector and whiteboard.

Students will need their pencil cases and workbooks. The iPads also need to be plugged into a device that can play two iPads at once.
