CHALLENGE
Do you know who Mozart is?
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–91) was an Austrian composer. Mozart
composed music in several genres, including opera and symphony.
Interesting Facts
1. By the age of 6 Mozart was writing his own musical compositions.
2. He even composed his first great mass at the age of 12. In the year 1770, at the age
of 14 years, Mozart wrote his first opera, entitled ‘Mitridate Re di Ponto’. It was at
this time that the world knew what a great man had been born on the earth’s surface.
People used to believe that listening to Mozart
increased one’s mental ability to perform some
mathematical tasks (The Mozart Effect).
Scientists now believe that listening to any music
will in fact have a short-term positive impact on
one’s brain power.
Try learning the 8 times tables to music and see if it helps you to remember them.
