Z – lines (disc)

What is attached to Z-lines?

Actin – thin fibers, extend in towards the middle

What is in the middle of a sarcomere?

Myosin – thick fibers, extend out from the middleA band – dark, middle part of sarcomere that is the entire length of the myosin fibers

What is the area of only thin?

I band – lighter area that contains ONLY thin fibers, foundon ends of sarcomere with Z - line, no overlap ofthick and thin fibers

What is the area of only thick?

H zone – center of A band that contains ONLY thick fibers, no overlap of thick and thin fibers
