Represents a group of national private capital which is third according to its turnover volumes in Lithuania. Founded in 2001, this Concern unites more than 30 companies operating within spheres of chemistry, transport and loading, food industry, trade, renewable energy, planning, repair works, financial transactions, hotels and wellness, media and advertising.

The turnover of Concern companies amounts to as much as LTL 4,8 billion per 2012 year.

More than 5,000 employees work for these companies.

In 2012 the investments of the Concern ACHEMA GROUP reached approximately LTL 86 million.

The Concern ACHEMA GROUP

Tai nacionalinio privataus kapitalo grupė, trečioji pagal apyvartos dydį Lietuvoje. 2001 m. įsteigtas Koncernas jungia daugiau nei 30 įmonių, dirbančių chemijos, transporto ir krovos, maisto pramonės, prekybos, energetikos, projektavimo, remonto, finansinių operacijų, viešbučių ir sveikatos, žiniasklaidos ir reklamos srityse.

Koncerno įmonių apyvarta – 4,8 mlrd. per 2012 m.

Bendrovėse dirba beveik 5000 darbuotojų.

THIS OUTSTANDING PERSONALITY LEFT INDELIBLE TRACES NOT ONLY IN THE LIFE OF THE CONCERN BUT ALSO–DUE TO HIS INTENSE ACTIVITIES AND DEVOTION TO THE SET GOALS–CONTRIBUTED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDUSTRY OF THE RESTORED INDE-PENDENT STATE OF LITHUANIA AS WELL AS TO THE FORMATION OF ITS CIVIL SOCIETY.

Dr. BRONISLOVAS LUBYS was a famous sponsor who has supported many cultural and scientific projects and used to always provide aid for those who had been given less opportunities in their lives.

UAB Koncernas „ACHEMOS GRUPĖ“ – vienas didžiausių šalies mokesčių mokėtojų ir darbdavių.

Klaipėdos valstybiniame jūrų uoste įsi-kūrusių Koncerno įmonių teikiamos koky-biškos logistikos paslaugos užtikrina laisvą ir saugų Lietuvos bei kitų pasaulio šalių pre-kių judėjimą.

Viešbučių ir sveikatingumo sektorius skati-na atvykstamąjį užsienio turizmą. Klaipėdos Pilies jachtų uostas yra didžiausias pramo-ginių laivų uostas Lietuvoje, kuris formuoja jūrinės šalies įvaizdį.

Koncernas ir uosto administracija Klaipė-doje stato Lietuvos Vyriausybės prioritetiniu projektu pripažintą keleivinių ir krovininių keltų terminalą, praplėsiantį keleivinę laivy-bą jūrų keltais.

Prie Lenkijos-Lietuvos sienos UAB „Mockavos terminalas“ įgyvendina skirtingų geležinkelio vėžės standartų – europinio ir rusiško, ter-minalo statybos projektą, kuris prisidės prie geresnės Lietuvos integracijos į Europos trans-porto tinklus.

Koncernas yra ekologiškai švarios elektros energijos gamybos pradininkas Lietuvoje. Jo bendrovės pasitelkia vandens, vėjo, saulės energijos šaltinius, naudoja biokurą prisidė-damos prie Lietuvos siekių iki 2020 metų pa-gaminti 23 proc. suvartojamos elektros ener-gijos iš atsinaujinančių šaltinių.

High quality services of logistics provi-ded by Concern companies based in the Klaipėda State Seaport ensure free and safe movement of goods from Lithuania and other countries in the world.

The sector of hotels and wellness stimulate the incoming foreign tourism. Klaipėda Castle Yacht Port is the largest port of re-creational vessels in Lithuania, considerably contributing to the formation of the image of Lithuania as maritime country.

In Klaipėda the Concern ACHEMA GROUP is also constructing, in the partnership with port administration, a passenger and freight ferry terminal, which has been ap-proved by the Government of Lithuania as one of its priority projects aimed at

further developing passenger navigation via sea ferries.

Next to the state border between Poland and Lithuania UAB “Mockavos terminalas” imple-ments the project concerning the construc-tion of a terminal of differing railway trackstandards (European and Russian) which would accordingly contribute to better inte-gration of Lithuania into the European trans-port networks.

The Concern ACHEMA GROUP is also the ini-tiator of the production of ecologically clean electricity in Lithuania. Its companies employ the powers of water, wind, and the sun, and use the bio-fuel in order to contribute to Lithuania’s ambitions to produce, by the year 2020, 23 percent of the consumed electricity from the renewable resources.

Branch offices trading in fertilizers ope-rate in Belgium, Germany, France and Po-land. 90 percent of AB Achema produc-tion is brought abroad.

Therefore, in 2012 an independent interna-tional board formed by the shareholders of the Concern ACHEMA GROUP as one of its goals identified further clarification of priorityspheres of its activity, achieving proper ba-lancing of economic and social purposes and increasing the efficiency of the companies.

Following the best world examples, the in-dependent board approved the priorities of its goals and ways of their implementation. In 2012, it concentrated its attention on the enhancement of the efficiency of companyadministration and operational activities.

The last year investments of the Concern com-panies were allocated not only for the mo-dernization of the companies but also for the implementation of progressive management solutions in the domains of management and various processes.

– Mister Chairman, how do you assess the results of the ACHEMA GROUP in 2012?

Concern ACHEMA GROUP achieved strong financial and operational results in the year2012. In fact, the year 2012 could be consi-dered among the best years in the history of the Group. Having said that, given the right circumstances and the time I am certain that we have the potential to deliver even better results. It has been a year of transition with the new Board running from May, 2012 and it takes time to get acquainted with the business envi-ronment, the fellow board members as well as the new team. I am certain that expectations will be even higher in the years to come and I hope the results will live up to them.

– What is your vision of the ACHEMA GROUP activity this year?

– The challenge for the Board is to maintain the required stability and to continue to develop and ensure financial and strategicgrowth in the future. It has been a year of brave decisions yet we always focus on our commitment to create value for the main stakeholders of the company – the share-holders, the employees and the community. It is extremely important for me as the Chair-man to make sure that we create value not only for the shareholders but also contribute to the wellbeing of the employees and the society. It has been an educational expe-rience to work in the Group and to observe the close relation which has evolved between the Company and the community.

– An independent and international board is still a rare management model for a Lithuanian company. What are the main advantages of such model?

– In order to successfully implement such ma-nagement model it is extremely important to combine the local knowledge with interna-tional knowledge. It is important to find a wayhow to merge the so called local culture and a way of doing business with an international, or in this case we could even call it a Scandi-navian model. And we are not dealing with an American nor a German model. I have spent my entire career working with the Scandina-

vian model, which is based on the principles of democracy, listening, taking decisions and trusting each other. These are main pillars of such model: discussions, decisions and execu-tion or implementation.

I have 45 years of positive experience in what I call corporate governance, finding ways howto work in the board hand in hand with the ma-nagement aiming to create value – and that is exactly what I am trying to do in this Company.

– Is this model more beneficial in compari-son with a board composed of local entre-preneurs?

– There is no better or worse way how to ma-nage a company, although it is important to recognize that Lithuania, just like Denmark for example, is a very small country in a vast in-ternational business world where tough rules apply to all the players. The bigger companies dominate over the small companies making it very difficult to survive and stand up to theinternational competition. Therefore we are faced with the challenge and an opportunity to build up companies making sure they not only survive but excel to become strong mar-ket players and leaders of their field.

– Concern ACHEMA GROUP is recognized for the social responsibility and environ-mental values. Does the Group intend to continue working this way?

– Of course Concern will maintain this focus in it‘s activity. But all this is possible under one condition, that is – the priority of the companies is to create value for the share-holders, the employees and the society. First we must ensure that all of our companies are working efficiently and are not waistingresources on the daily bases. This is the area where we need to educate each other and retain strong committment to do things in a better way. In order to make sure that we can give back to the community and the socie-ty and continue to excel as a company with strong social values and social responsibility we must ensure a possitive cash flow in ourdaughter companies.

Turiu 45 metų įmonių valdymo patirtį – pa-tirtį, kaip dirbti petys petin su kompanijos va-dovybe siekiant sukurti pridėtinę vertę. Būtent tai stengiuosi daryti ir šiame koncerne.

- Ar toks modelis naudingesnis lyginant su valdyba, kurią sudaro tik vietos versli-ninkai?

- Nėra geresnių ar blogesnių būdų valdyti įmonę. Tačiau svarbu suvokti, kad Lietuva, lygiai kaip ir, pavyzdžiui, Danija, yra labai ma-ža šalis plačiame verslo pasaulyje, kur visi žaidėjai turi paklusti griežtoms taisyklėms. Didesnės įmonės įgyja persvarą mažesniųjų atžvilgiu – šioms darosi vis sunkiau atlaikyti tarptautinę konkurenciją. Todėl susiduriame su iššūkiu – ir kartu galimybe – plėsti įmo-nes, kad jos ne tik išgyventų konkurencinėje kovoje, bet ir taptų stambiomis žaidėjomis, savo sektorių lyderėmis.

- Koncernas „ACHEMOS GRUPĖ“ yra verti-namas dėl socialinės atsakomybės ir dėl to, kad siekia saugoti gamtą. Ar Koncer-no veikla ir toliau bus plėtojama šiomis kryptimis?

- Žinoma, Koncernui tai ir toliau bus svarbūs veiklos principai. Bet visa tai įmanoma pa-siekti tik su viena sąlyga – kompanijos priori-tetas turi išlikti vertės kūrimas akcininkams, darbuotojams ir visuomenei. Pirmiausia rei-kia užtikrinti, kad visos mūsų įmonės dirbtų efektyviai ir nešvaistytų išteklių savo kasdie-niams poreikiams. Tai sritis, kurioje turime vieni iš kitų mokytis ir nenustoti stengtis siekti vis geresnių rezultatų. Kad galėtume prisidėti prie visuomenės gerovės kūrimo ir toliau vystytumėmės kaip koncernas, turintis tvirtas socialines vertybes ir atsakomybę, pri-valome užtikrinti, kad visos mūsų antrinės įmonės dirbtų pelningai.

- Pone pirmininke, kaip vertinate 2012 metų „ACHEMOS GRUPĖS“ rezultatus?

- Koncerno veiklos rezultatai 2012-aisiais buvo labai geri. Praėjusius metus net būtų galima vadinti vienais iš geriausių „ACHEMOS GRUPĖS“ istorijoje. Tačiau esu įsitikinęs, kad palankesnėmis aplinkybėmis, jei būtume tu-rėję daugiau laiko, būtume galėję pasiekti dar geresnių rezultatų. 2012-ieji buvo per-mainų metai. Gegužę darbą pradėjo nau-joji valdyba, mums prireikė šiek tiek laiko susipažinti su verslo aplinka, kolegomis ir nauja komanda. Esu tikras, kad ateinančiais metais lūkesčiai bus dar didesni, ir tikiuosi, kad mums pavyks juos pateisinti.

- Kokia Jūsų šių metų „ACHEMOS GRUPĖS“ veiklos vizija?

- Pagrindinis iššūkis valdybai – išlaikyti tiek veiklos stabilumą, tiek augimą, taip pat už-tikrinti finansinę ir strateginę plėtrą ateityje.2012-ieji buvo drąsių sprendimų metai, tačiau pagrindinis mūsų tikslas visuomet yra sukur-ti pridėtinę vertę koncerno akcininkams, jo darbuotojams ir visuomenei. Man, kaip valdybos pirmininkui, itin svarbu, kad mes ne tik sukurtume naudą akcininkams, bet ir prisidėtume prie darbuotojų ir visuomenės gerovės. Darbas „ACHEMOS GRUPĖJE“ man pačiam leidžia daug išmokti, taip pat įsi-tikinti, kokiais glaudžiais ryšiais susiję, Kon-cerno ir visuomenės nariai.

- Nepriklausoma tarptautinė valdyba Lie-tuvoje vis dar yra gana retas įmonės val-dymo modelis. Kokie yra pagrindiniai jo pranašumai?

- Kad toks modelis būtų sėkmingai įgyven-dintas, būtina sujungti vietinę ir tarptautinę patirtį. Labai svarbu rasti būdą, kaip suderinti vietos kultūrą, verslo tradicijas su tarptauti-niu – šiuo atveju skandinavišku – verslo mo-deliu, kuris skiriasi tiek nuo amerikietiškojo, tiek vokiškojo. Visą savo profesinę karjerą praleidau dirbdamas pagal skandinaviškąjį modelį, kuris remiasi demokratijos, įsiklau-symo, sprendimų priėmimo ir tarpusavio pa-sitikėjimo principais. Pirmiausia diskutuoja-ma, tada priimami sprendimai, galiausiai jie įgyvendinami.

AB „Achema“ Didžiausia azoto trąšų ir kitų pramoninių chemijos produktų gamintoja šalyje bei didžiausia tokio pobūdžio gamykla Balti-jos šalyse. Penktą dešimtmetį skaičiuojanti įmonė yra asociacijos „Fertilizer Europe“ narė. Bendrovėje dirba daugiau nei 1400 darbuotojų.

2012 metais „Achema“ padidino pajamas iki 2,23 mlrd. litų (+8 proc. palyginti su 2011 m.), pardavė daugiau kaip 2,6 mln. tonų produkcijos (+4 proc.) ir pasiekė naują įmonės rekordą. Skystųjų trąšų terminalas „Fertingent“2006 m. kartu su Belgijos partneriais AB „Ache-ma“ atidarė naują skystųjų trąšų terminalą Gen-te (Belgija) – „Fertingent“. AB AchemaThe largest producer of nitrogen fertilizers and other industrial chemistry products in the country as well as the largest such plant in the Baltic countries. The company, which is already counting the fifth decadeof its activities, is a full member of the as-sociation Fertilizer Europe. The company employs more than 1,400 employees.

In 2012 Achema increased its income up to LTL 2.23 billion (+8 percent, cf. 2011), sold more than 2.6 million tons of production (+4 percent) and reached a new company record. The company exported 2.28 million tons of production worth LTL 1.94 billion (the largest share of exported production was transported to France, Great Britain, the USA, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Canada, Denmark and Poland). The Lithuanian agri-culture sector, which becomes stronger and stronger every year, also contributed to the increase of AB Achema sales in the domestic market in 2012. The most popular product in the company’s product basket was that of liquid fertilizers.

In 2012 the company allocated more than LTL 41 million for the purposes of instal-ling new technologies and modernizing the existing ones; with a view of further developing the modernization of indus-trial technologies, the expansion of in-vestments has also been planned for the year 2013.

Liquid fertilizer terminalFertingentIn 2006 AB Achema together with its partners in Belgium opened a new liquid fertilizer ter-minal in Ghent (Belgium) named Fertingent. At that time this was the largest investment of Lithuanian capital in Belgium. The purpose of Fertingent is to exploit the terminal of liquid urea (carbamide)-ammonium saltpeter (CAS) fertilizers with the capacity of approximately 120 thousand tons of liquid fertilizers per year. This terminal, equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities which comply with the highest standards of environmental protec-tion, is administered remotely from France.

Už 2 mln. litų bendrovėje buvo įdiegta dar viena naftos produktų iškrovimo-saugojimo sistema, kuri paspartins geležinkelio vagonų judėjimą. Bendrovės planuose – įrenginių tiek degalų importui, tiek eksportui statyba. Taip pat planuojama degalus perdirbti įmo-nės teritorijoje.

UAB „Klaipėdos keleivių irkrovinių terminalas“ Kasmet į Klaipėdą vis daugiau turistų at-vyksta keleiviniais keltais ir kruiziniais lai-

AB „Klaipėdos laivų remontas“Uostamiesčio istorinėje širdyje, greta Klai-pėdos pilies, laivus remontuojanti bei jū-rų turizmo paslaugas teikianti bendrovė istorinių vertybių atnaujinimo. Tai leido dešimtadaliu padidinti bendrovės pajamas.

Pirmasis neatpažįstamai pakeistas 1885 metais statytas motorlaivis „Oskar II“, kuris išplaukė į Norvegiją. Praėjusių metų pa-baigoje bendrovės darbuotojai pradėjo re-montuoti Klaipėdos miesto simbolį – bur-laivį „Meridianas“. UAB „Mockavos terminalas“ Dviejų skirtingų geležinkelio vėžės stan-dartų – europinio (1435 mm) ir rusiško (1520 mm), terminalo idėją kelerius metus brandinusi bendrovė, pradėjo intermoda-linio centro statybos etapą.

Bendradarbiaujant kartu su Vokietijos kom-panija „CargoBeamer Terminal GmbH“ jau 2013 metais bus baigtas statyti bei pradės veikti pirmasis CargoBeamer technologijos puspriekabių krovos baras, kuris sudarys ga-limybes auto puspriekabes (be vilkikų) perkel-ti nuo automobilinio kelio ant specializuotų CargoBeamer vagonų bei toliau jas gabenti geležinkeliu. Naujajame terminale teikiamos paslaugos leis krovinių siuntėjams sutaupyti laiko bei pinigų transporto išlaidoms.

Dviejų skirtingų geležinkelio vėžės standartų terminalas Lietuvai bus naudingas dėl pla-tesnių logistinių galimybių gabenant krovi-nius tarp Rytų ir Vakarų.

UAB „Transachema“ Sėkmingai teikia visas su AB „Achema“ gaunamų žaliavų bei pagamintos produk-cijos išsiuntimu susijusias logistines pa-slaugas gamyklos teritorijoje.

Taip pat siūlo ekspedijavimo, vagonų nuomos ir kitas susijusias paslaugas. Įmonės nuosavų vagonų parką sudaro beveik 1000 vagonų.

Bendrovė 2012 metais pradėjo riedmenų varymo veiklą maršrutu „Skarulių kely-nas-Gaižiūnų geležinkelio stotis“. Bendrovė investavo 4,5 mln. litų ir įsigijo naują ma-nevrinį lokomotyvą „TEM 7A“.

AB „Klaipėdos jūrų krovinių kompanija“(KLASCO)

Praėjusiais metais terminalų plėtrai bendrovė panaudojo 19,5 mln. litų iš iki 2014 metų numatytų įsisavinti 60 mln. litų investicijų. Pradėjo statyti 100 tūkst. talpos sandėlį bi-riems kroviniams ir įgyvendinti ilgalaikę 11 portalinių kranų modernizavimo programą: mechanines dalis keisti į elektronines.

AB Klaipėdos jūrų kroviniųkompanija (KLASCO) Successor of the traditions started by Klai-pėda trading port – in 2012 reached the highest economic results in the history of its activities and helped Klaipėda Port maintain high positions.

In this year the largest universal port compa-ny in the Baltic States reloaded 13.46 million tons of cargos and earned LTL 171 million of income, increased its profitability as well asits share in the service market. The increase of the company’s turnover was largely due to the export of Lithuanian crop yield (which had reached record levels) and an expansive trade in Byelorussian potassium fertilizers within global markets. The deepening of the chan-nel and its quays allows KLASCO (the only one company in the port) to receive not only ves-sels with all sorts of Panamax draught but also those with the 13.4 m Postpanamax draught.

Out of LTL 60 million of investments envis-aged for absorption until 2014, last year the company used LTL 19.5 million for the de-velopment of its terminals. It also started to construct a 100,000-tons-capacity storage fa-

AB Klaipėdos laivų remontas Company repairing ships and providing maritime tourism services in the very historical heart of the port city, next to Klaipėda Castle, initiated renovation works of historical valuables.

This allowed increasing the company’s in-come by as much as 1/10. The first motor-boat “Oskar II” (built in 1885), which has been transformed beyond recognition, sailed to Norway. In the end of last year the company’s employees started repairing the symbol of Klaipėda City – the sailing ship “Meridianas”. The company also pur-sues the project “Jūros vartai” (“Sea Gates”) which would gradually turn the territory of the castle hill into the area of trade, enter-tainment, recreations and residence. Re-levant documentation has been prepared for the territory of cultural heritage and is now being negotiated upon for the invest-ments of the year 2013.

UAB Mockavos terminalas Having contemplated the idea of terminal with two different railway track standardsi.e. the European (1435 mm) and Russian (1520 mm) one for a couple of years, com-menced Phase I of the construction of such intermodal centre.

Thanks to joint efforts implemented in co-operation with the German company Car-

goBeamer Terminal GmbH already in 2013 the constructions of the first section for loading semi-trailers in accordance with CargoBeamer technology will be com-pleted and start their operation; this would enable to move auto semi-trailers (without towing vehicles) from the auto road, then place them on specialized Cargobeamer wagons and proceed with their transporta-tion by rail.

The services which are to be provided in this newly planned terminal would allow cargo shippers to save time and transpor-tation costs.

UAB TransachemaUAB Transachema successfully provides all logistical services associated with the shipping of raw materials received by AB Achema and production thereof within the territory of the plant.

In 2012 the company launched the acti-vity of moving the rolling stock via route “Skaruliai Railway Tracks – Gaižiūnai Railway Station” and became the first private carrierby railway transport in Lithuania. With the help of this terminal oil products are being exported from Russia, Byelorus-sia and Lithuania and imported from the EU states. For the sum of LTL 2 million another system for unloading-storage of oil products has been installed in the company, which shall expedite the traffic of railway wagons.The company also plans to construct relevant facilities for both import and export of fuel. The processing of fuel within the territory of the company has also been included in the company’s plans.

UAB Klaipėdos keleivių irkrovinių terminalas Each year more and more tourists come to Klaipėda by passenger ferries and cruise liners, therefore, the port is now engaged in expeditious preparatory works in order to receive and serve them appropriately and qualitatively.

UAB Renerga The main energetics company of the Con-cern, one of the first companies in Lithua-nia which started the development of al-ternative energetics.

Its activity – production of environmentally clean electricity from natural resources – re-sults in 135 million kWh per year. This com-pany owns the segments of Kavarskas (1.5 MW) and Pasrėvys (320 kW) Hydro Power Plants and – at the seaside – wind farms of Benaičiai and Benaičiai-1 (50 MW). In 2012 its activities were standardized in ac-cordance with the ISO 14001:2004 environ-mental quality management requirements. Currently this company is implementing another construction project in relation to

the solar power plant (1 MW) which would generate more than 0.85 million kWh of electricity per year.

AB Achema There are two cogeneration power plants operating at AB Achema with the total power amounting to 68 KW. The 47 KW gas power plant is the only one in the whole Lithuanian industry which absolutely con-forms to the requirements of EU directive on thermofication (cogeneration).

Its efficiency rate exceeds 90 percent. Since2012 the company may implement its priority goals linked to the saving of environment and energy to the maximum.

Grand SPA Lietuva The wellness complex Grand SPA Lietuva, which has been recognized by the guests of the international Druskininkai resort as one of the most innovative within the Bal-tic region, uses the geothermal energy.

Striving to achieve the harmony between hu-man activities and the nature, the company advocates not only wind and climate therapy but also the exploitation of local resources. The geothermal heating and cooling system allows using the heat stored deeply in the ground in winter and the coolness accumulated by the ground – in summer.

The radio station Radiocentras, which once opened up the service line for society infor-mation and advertisement, has gradually brought to life other radio stations as well, such as Russkoje radio Baltija, ZIP FM, Re-lax FM, Rock FM. Each of them has already found its niche among their listeners, how-ever, “Radiocentras”, day by day broadcas-ting good mood throughout Lithuania, still remains the most well-known one.

The range of media business was later sup-plemented by the regional newspaper Nau-jienos and the republican daily paper Lietu-vos žinios which is valued for its differentapproach to life.

In 2012, the daily paper Lietuvos žinios which has celebrated its 100th anniversary, initiated an ecological-educational project. During

their summer vacations children were en-couraged to collect plastic corks, use some of them for creative works and give the rest to the collection points. During the period of six months the children collected almost a ton of plastic corks.

In the summer of 2012 the Concern’s port companies for the first time organized andfinanced recreational week-ends “Jūros vartųvasara” (“Summer of the Sea Gates”) next to the Klaipėda Castle port, thus striving to bring life to the Old Town and to provide Klaipėda residents with the possibility to spend their spare time near the water.

Palangos vėtra took part in the traditional Christmas charity event whose funds have

been allocated for the support of gifted, ta-lented pupils. The hotel Magnus and Grand SPA Lietuva supported the Lithuanian Bas-ketball Federation.

Renerga organized subject-based summer camps and Christmas quizzes for 5-12 grade pupils, and took part in the municipal project “Anykščiai – capital of Lithuanian culture 2012”.

The tradition of “Chemist Days” has been re-newed after a break, marked with joyous celebrations of this event in Jonava Town; traditional feasts for Achema and KLASCO veterans of labour have been held as well. The

company collectives have been provided with excellent conditions for active leisure occu-pations in corporate recreation complexes, Spartakiads are being organized. The labour relations in the largest Concern companies are regulated by collective contracts which are constantly revised and updated. AB Achema supports the Product Stewardship system developed by the European Fertilizer Manufacturers Association (EFMA). Fertilizers and their raw materials, additives and inter-mediate products manufactured in this company are safely processed and produced, stored, sold and used.

AB AchemaIn order to implement the technology for reducing its green-house gas emissions having an impact on the EU, since 2007 the company has been involved in the im-plementation of common projects under Kyoto Protocol in the nitric acid produc-tion facilities.

In 2012 the average degree for reducing dinitrogen oxide (N2O) emissions consti-tuted 80 per cent, reaching the EU limit va-lue of pollution set for such type of facili-ties. The sum of LTL 23 million allocated for the reduction of pollution since the start of this project prevented almost 5 million tons of carbon dioxide from getting into the ambient air.

AB Achema joined a new international ecological movement. In the context of the EU project “European Business Congress – Car-bon Neutral Organisation”, AB Achema and its social partner, Jonava Forest Directorate, has been included among the 4 companies selected for the purposes of this project, and initiated a specific action aimed at reducingthe green-house effect. A total of 2.12 ha ofgreen areas have been set up in Jonava Dis-trict, namely, 1.46 ha of forest and 0.66 ha of plantation areas. In this way the impact of industrialization is being reduced in line with the provisions of the UN Framework Conven-tion on Climate Change.

AB Achema and UAB AgrochemaCompanies are further pursuing the educa-tional project “Be Responsible – Save Baltic Sea”; they have also joined the Baltic Sea Ac-tion Group (BSAG) and use special marks on their production packages.
