Offline

Emulation

Inner station has less coverage than medium-outer stations. To check impact on acceptance of a three point measurements vs two point measurements, an offline emulation of the LVL2 Fast has been implemented in the endcaps, using also the inner station measurement. Resolutions function of eta,phi (local). Pt=-6 GeV

Preliminary

Offline studies

Results agree with online code.Loss in acceptance only in some marginal regions.

Including inner station, resolution improves (<10%) in most regions except some eta, phi regions

Without TRT

BARREL:

• Algorithm for the barrel finalized for 12.0.3

• Matching with the ID track done at the external surface of the CALO match , match & z match all

studied with respect the muon pT

– matching efficiency 99.2% with 3 • performance checked with a new

single muon production (11.0.6)• used ~ 1.5x106 events produced

with the spread of the interaction point

• cut on the matching window optimized for muon tracks with pT of 6 GeV

Comb: physics performanceBarrel

Endcap: as of now no back extrapolation is available, hence the association between ID and muon track is driven only by the pT estimated in the two subdetectors

Performances with misaligned data• check of performances while LUTs and alignement of geometry are not optimal

• use of the available sample at 5,10,50,100,300 GeV– misaligned geometry: ATLAS-CSC-01-02-00

• performance of Fast is lowered but Comb almost recover it– no TRT propagation of IDSCAN always used

LVL2 on-going workWork in progress (ready for 13.0.0):• deploying the pattern recognition in the innermost

endcap

• refining pT estimation with the use of innermost station

• back extrapolation for the combined reconstruction in the endcap

• correcting the LVL2 geometry model with the alignment• accessing the MDT configuration database• online access of the MDT calibration constants

EF plans for 13.0.0

• ID seeded version• Package split in order to be more friendly to new

developers• Topological algorithms• Migration to new EDM

– Implementation of Alg tools in order to share code with offline

– Will get collections of unseeded (for wrapped mode) or of seeded (for online use) PrepRawData

Conclusions

• Muon slice is performing well• All levels are ready, isolation requirement using

calorimeter, still to be integrated• Next improvements

– Configurables• drive with configurables the configuration of the full set of

Tools/Services used by algorithms, where possible– Migration to "New Steering"

• FEX algorithm migrated for LVL2 and EF• Hypothesis algorithm coding on going for EF, done for LVL2• need extensive testing

– New performances need to be evaluated as new data will be available, compatibly with csc notes timescale
