City life and comforts that come along with it, promising livelihoods, lucrative jobs, affordable housing at lifestyle in time with what is happening in larger cities, taking a lesson from there and creating an opportunity here back home is all that an urban citizen aspires for. The need of the hour is to organize the city to advance green growth and improve the day to day lives of the citizens. Swatch Tirupati aims for Swatch Bharath. The idea behind is believed to be the harbinger for growth and sustainability, inclusive of local self governance that brings in together with formal and informal sectors connecting urban cores with peripheries delivering services for the rich and the poor alike. Tirupati attracts about one lakh pilgrims per day and it always needs the services of the Corporation. In order to provide civic amenities and to give a decent quality of life to the public, the Municipal Corporation, Tirupati has taken up like introduction of Digital India through which the online Building permission system is functioning w.e.f. 20.02.2016. Editors Note on e-news letter:

Tirupati to become one of the Smart Cities in the Nation:

Tirupati now with a population of 374000 is looking up to become one of the

Smart Cities in the country. There are sufficient resources for the needs of the

common people living in the city. City life and comforts that come along with

it, promising livelihoods, lucrative jobs, affordable housing at lifestyle in time

with what is happening in larger cities, taking a lesson from there and creating

an opportunity here back home is all that an urban citizen aspires for.

The need of the hour is to organize the city to advance green growth and

improve the day to day lives of the citizens. Swatch Tirupati aims for Swatch

Bharath. The idea behind is believed to be the harbinger for growth and

sustainability, inclusive of local self governance that brings in together with

formal and informal sectors connecting urban cores with peripheries delivering

services for the rich and the poor alike.

services of the Corporation. In order to provide civic amenities and to give a

taken up like introduction of Digital India through which the online Building

counters and tax collection counters in the office are working on public holidays

also.

The Municipal Corporation, Tirupati also took up construction of CC Drains,

SWM and maintenance of Sanitation by adopting new policy. The new policy

is the scientific approach. Instead of workers based sanitation, the new policy

emphasizes at work based sanitation, in which assignment of job responsibility,

equal work quantities, separate mechanism for bulk and commercial wastage

collection, mechanical sweeping proposed. Basing on the latest guidelines,

physical survey has been taken up. After completion of survey, RFPs will be

prepared and tenders will be called for implementation of new guidelines for

SWM and maintenance of Sanitation in Tirupathi Municipal Corporation.

The Municipal Corporation is always at the door steps of the general public to

serve them always and at the service of lakhs of floating pilgrims visiting

Tirupati City.

Public Health Wing initiatives in the month of February 2016

Government of Andhra Pradesh have issued new guidelines in Go No.279, dt: 13-12-2015 for Solid Waste Management and maintenance of Sanitation in the municipalities and corporations in the state. It is a good opportunity for the ULBs to improve Sanitation by adopting new policy.

The new policy is the scientific approach towards maintenance of sanitation. Instead of worker based sanitation, the new policy emphasizes at work based sanitation in which assignment of job responsibility, equal work quantities, separate mechanism for bulk and commercial wastage collection, mechanical sweeping, proposed. The sanitation will be maintained not basing onwards, but on micro packets which consists 300 to 350 households. Three types of work units will be taken in the new policy. (1) Residential micro pocket which includes internal road sweeping, drains cleaning, litter collection (2) Bulk and commercial solid waste collection (3) Mechanical Sweeping of main roads The entire ULB has to be surveyed and micro pockets will be mapped. Individual houses holds, , group and flats not more than 20 will be included in residential micro pockets . Above 20 group and flats will be taken in bulk collection wastage. Micro pocket Activities includes, gate to gate collection ,sweeping ,litter collection ,drains cleaning ,removal of weeds , unwanted plants growth ,berms cutting ,disinfectant spraying ,transportation , gang work. Basing on the guidelines, physical survey has been taken up in Municipal Corporation, Tirupati. After completion of survey RFPs will be prepared and tender will be called for implementation of new guild lines for Solid Waste Management and maintenance of Sanitation in Tirupati Municipal Corporation,

Swatch Tirupati

Colourful Mythological Pictures to greet Devotees in

Tirupati.

Municipal Corporation Tirupati as a part of beautification drive, has embarked

upon a new project to turn the blank city walls into beautiful paintings,

depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. Divotees travelling through the major

approach roads into the temple city of Tirupati will soon be greeted by colourful

mythological murals.

In this regard Municipal Corporation officials have identified six approach

roads for this project, envisaged with main idea of providing an devine feel to

the pilgrims visiting Tirupati and Tirumala.

These beautification measures were a part of making the pilgrim experience ,

particulary those transgressing through the major approach roads into the city

connected with the divine ambience of the place. In the first phase Municipal

Corporation Tirupati completing the painting of pictures in the identified areas

of M.R.Palli Vykuntapuram to Thummala gunta byepass and Padmavathi

Mahila Univerisity areas, and side walls Railway over Bridge. This will also

contribute in making in the poster free. Other areas identified under project

include Rayalcheruvu, Cherlopalli, Karakambadi, S.V.University and Renigunta

Roads.

Pulse Polio Immunization Program

Pulse Polio is an immunization campaign

established by the Government of India to

eliminate Poliomyelitis(Polio) by vaccinating all

children under the age of 0- 5 years against polio

virus.

Municipal Corporation Tirupati is organizing the

Programme every year and especially during2016

organized in the months of January and February.

Important aspects of Pulse Polio Immunization

children under the age of 0-5 years.

Arranged 125 Pulse polio centres across the city,

including Bus stations, Railway station, TTD

dormitories of Srinivsasam, Vishnu nivasam,

Madhavam, TTD Chowltries to facilitate the

pilgrims who visit Tirumala.

Deployed 4 Doctors, 22 ANM’s 75 Asha workers,

500 nursing students participated served in all the

centres. The Commissioner, Municipal Health

Officer, and Women medical officer, frequently

visited all the centres.

Hon’ble Tirupati MLA., Smt.M.Sugunamma,

inaugurated this programme and administered

drops to the children.

Achieved 101.80% of target in the programme

covering 33494 children.

Town Planning wing initiatives in

the month of February 2016

Advertisement Tax:

A notification was issued, duly revising new advertisement taxes published

in the District Gazette bearing No.05/2015 dt. 05-02-2016 approved by the

District Collector, Chittoor. Accordingly the advertisement taxes have

been revised and demand notices have been generated and notices were

served to all the Advertisement agencies.

The Town Planning Supervisor/Town Planning building overseer and

Revenue Section Bill collectors are attending for collection of

Advertisement tax as the Financial year 2015-16 is coming to close by 31-

3-2016.

Building Penalization Scheme:

The applications received under Building Penalization Scheme upto the

month of January 2016 i.e. till the close of the scheme is 2302. A meeting

was conducted in the O/o Regional Deputy Director of Town Planning,

Ananthapuram and instructions were issued for inspection and uploading

the reports and finalization of approvals.

All the Building Penalization Scheme have been forwarded to the Town

Planning Building Overseers concerned for inspection of the buildings,

and this work is in full swing, as 1281 BPS applications were physically

inspected and and sent endorsement for submission of documents and

inspection of remaining 1021 applications are under progress.

introduced for Online Building Applications with effect from 15-2-2016.

They are processed as

Revenue Section

Property Tax Collections Review

The Municipal Commissioner, Sri.V.Vinay Chand, IAS reviewed with the Collection and Engineering staff on. in TUDA Conference Hall for achieving the cent per cent of tax collections. During the meeting it is clearly instructed that at present only 85% achieved that should be reached by cent per cent within a span of 5 or 6 days. For achieving the above target the Revenue collection staff and the Engineering Staff combinedly approach all the commercial establishments, apartments, who are huge pendency of property, water and UDS charges. Initiate the rules under section 269 and 270 of HMC Act, 1955 where there is long pending defaulters.

The e-mass on line counters and tax collection counters in office will work as usual on public holidays. The collection staff should be in wards from 6. A.M. onwards in the interest of achieving of cent per cent. The Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer, Municipal Enigger-1 and 2, Revenue Officer, Revenue Inspectors, Bill Collectors are also attended.
