GERMAN EXCURSIONGERMAN EXCURSIONGERMAN EXCURSIONGERMAN EXCURSION On the 31st May the Year 8 students from Mundubbera P-10 joined with the Year 8 students from Burnett State College on a trip to Maleny and Montville. The first stop of the day was King Ludwig’s German Restaurant in Maleny. We played a number of games and everyone enjoyed themselves. Congratulations to Nick Darrow and Brenton Duggan who won the slap dancing competition and also to Peli Feki, Nick Darrow, Noa Aho, Ben Jacobi, Mason Ward and Tully Willson who won the Stein drinking competition. These six boys managed to drink a 1L stein full of water in 3.4 seconds, in a combined effort using straws. We were then treated to a meal of traditional German food. After our meal we were off to our next destination – Montville. Once in Montville we split up into two groups. Group one went to the Blackforest Hill Cuckoo Clock Shop for a talk on the way German clocks are made and group two went to Candy Addiction for a candy making workshop. After both activities we made our way back home. All students who participated were excited about their time on the excursion.

MESSAGE FROM THE P & C PRESIDENTMESSAGE FROM THE P & C PRESIDENTMESSAGE FROM THE P & C PRESIDENTMESSAGE FROM THE P & C PRESIDENT We are very appreciative of the financial assistance from Queensland Health and the voluntary assistance from a dedicated team that has enabled Breakfast Club to run at school each morning (except Thursday). We expect this to continue for the rest of the year. The ongoing support of Tuckshop is also very welcome. The new menu has entailed a considerable amount of volunteer work so the commitment of volunteers is deeply appreciated. We thank those who patronise tuckshop for ensuring orders and payment are correct. Many thanks to Marcia for her dedication and many volunteer hours for the tuckshop service. The musical was a great event thanks to the incredible contribution by students, staff and community members. It takes dedication to produce these great results and the school musical was a testimony to our community spirit. Those who spent many days working on props, sound and light deserve special thanks for their overwhelming commitment to the event preparation and staging. Well done Well done Well done Well done to the students and teachers who worked so hard and performed so well to give our community this entertaining event. The Friday night performance was video-recorded and a DVD will be produced. Please order with payment at the school office. $20 per copy.

Another event to look forward to is the Musical Gala, planned for 30 August. This will be another great opportunity to see the performance skills of our students. We are looking for examples of previous school uniforms, primary or secondary, to be displayed at next year’s school centenary event. If you believe you may have some interesting school memorabilia, including uniforms, please contact Lisa Whelan. There will not be a centenary group planning meeting in June. The next P & C meeting is scheduled for 7pm on 21 June in the school library. All welcome.
