“I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked”

The play “I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked” will be presented as a musical drama on Friday April 5th and Saturday April 6th at 7 pm at Community in the Sanctuary. The play consists of 14 scenes depicting Jesus’ life, with a cast of 50. Practices are scheduled for 3 pm on Sunday March 17th, 24th, and a dress rehearsal on the 31st. The Initial stage setup is scheduled for Sunday March 10th at 2 pm. Pray for Your Youth Mission Team We have ten youth and three adults going on a summer mission trip to Panama City, FL. The members of our 2019 Youth Mission Team are Dulce, Krystal, Maddie, Cora, Dawson, Serena, Jason, Zoey, Shannon, Simon, and the leaders are Billy Rosbury, Abbey Meuter, and Mark Young.

Please begin praying for the team. For the next several months we will be training, fundraising, and preparing; and we need God’s provision, protection, and guidance all along the way!

We will serve dinner to a Team of 15 from the College of Charleston during Spring Break. This is through the St. Lucie Habitat Collegiate Challenge. The Puppet Team, with Patty and Rick Surface, will host on March 20. Our YOUTH will serve on March 21. If you would like to provide a yummy dessert for that Wednesday or Thursday, let Patty know. 464-8526

site, select REGISTER and print the “overnight camp paper application”.

To receive “total church financing”, attendance at Worship and/or Youth must be 50%,

and Scholarship and Registration Forms to Warren Willis Camp returned to Patty by

As we enter this season of Lent we are continuing to practice puppet songs and dowel rod routines to keep our skills sharp and our puppet arms strong. We are learning about Faith and some of the Biblical people that God used throughout the Bible. Faith is the evidence of what we cannot see. We are studying the stories of Noah, Moses, Job, and Paul. We will be sharing these stories with you in April. Save the date on Sunday, April 28th to see the musical “Join the Hall of Faith”.

Gospel Gardener A conversation between God and St. Francis God: Francis, you know all about gardens/nature. What’s going on down in the US.? Where are all the dandelions, violets, thistles and other stuff. I had a perfect no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought, multiply with abandon. The nectar from blossoms attract butterflies, honey bees, songbirds. I thought there would be colorful gardens every where. All I see is green. St. F: Suburbanites moved in. They called your flowers “weeds” and they worked hard to kill them and replace them with grass. God: Grass is so boring. No color. Doesn’t attract butterflies, bees or birds, only grubs and sod worms. St. F: No God, when grass grows a little, the suburbanites cut it... Sometimes two times a week. God: They cut it? Do they bale it like hay? St. F: No Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags. God: So they bag it. Do they sell it? St. F: No sir, just the opposite. They pay to throw it away. God: Let me see. They fertilize it and make it grow. Then pay to throw it away. St. F: Yes Sir. God: These suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when I cut back the rain. Then grass doesn’t grow fast. St. F: Lord you won’t believe this - when grass stops growing so fast. They drag out their hoses and pay money to water it and continue to mow it and pay to remove it. God: Good thing they kept some trees. Tree’s grow leaves in spring for beauty and shade in summer. In autumn leaves fall to ground and make a blanket to retain moisture in soil and protect trees and bushes. They become compost to enhance the soil. It’s the circle of life. St. F: Sit down Lord. When leaves fall, they rake them in piles and pay to have it hauled away. God: What protects the soil in winter? St. F: When they remove the leaves, they buy mulch. Take it home and spread it around in the yard. God: Where do they get the mulch? St. F: They cut your trees down. Grind them up and make mulch. God: Enough. I don’t want to think about this anymore. Let’s watch a movie. St. F: We have one called “Dumb and Dumber” God: No thanks. I’ve just now seen that one. This cute gardening tale was printed from Orange Peel Gazette 2008. All I can say is God bless us. We really need help. I know God loves our Colorful Children’s Garden. It is a happy place. for all. Jean Harvey

Book Buddy Ministry

Twenty-four Book Buddy letters were distributed to the Book Buddy Helpers who were present on Sunday February 3, 2019. Eleven letters were mailed to those not present. Twenty books, twenty extra books and a $25.00 donation have been received. Books will be due by Friday March 1, 2019. Books should be left in the Book Buddy Bin (in the Narthex) or Church Office. The Preschool Book Distribution will take place the second week of March. Thank you for your continued support.

Helpers Are Needed Helpers are ALWAYS needed for the Book Buddy Ministry which is an outreach program to provide the preschool children of our church with books for their classrooms and their homes…books that instill Godly values and nourish children spiritually. LADIES ON A MISSION

Hopefully you celebrated a “lovely” Valentine’s Day! The Ladies would love to thank Valerie Banks for a closet full of bears! Thanks to Valerie we are able to keep the Pew Bears in the Chapel and Sanctuary. They continue to be wonderful ambassadors of God’s love in our community and beyond! At our regular meeting on February 6, we welcomed 2 new Ladies-Jan Onori and Elsie Clapper. They jumped right in to prepare some of these Pew Bears. Our regular members were in attendance as well working hard, enjoying fellowship and of course sharing a snack!

We will next meet on Wednesday, March 6. Remember that no experience of ANY kind is necessary to join our group-we always have something that you can do!
