• Intra-Personal-likes to work

on their own, does not like work group, tends to work independently to achieve a goal

• Reading- students will learn how to read a passage of literature correctly and be able to analyze critical literary ideas and tools used in the literary work

The Hunger Games Literary Analysis

• Students will read the literary work “The Hunger Games” and complete two activities that will engage their reading comprehension skills to analyze the work and then relate it on a personal level

Learning Objectives

• Upon completing this assignment, the students should be able to:

• A) Critically analyze a literary work

• B) Be able to take that analysis and draw personal conclusions and connections between themselves and the literary work

• C) Be able to understand separate and different viewpoints and ideas and express them as they relate to the literary work.

News Article

• Students will take an event from the literary work “The Hunger Games”, and write a brief yet concise accurately accounted news release or article describing the event (I.E. The Reaping, The Tribute Parade, The Fighting in the Arena)

• Students will complete this article or news release from either the perspective of the protagonist (The Districts) or the antagonist (The Capitol)

Propaganda/Reaction Poster

• Following completion of the news article, students will respond to the article from the opposing perspective by completing a Reaction poster or media that describes the feelings or sentiment of the opposing perspective.
