Multimedia Storyboard Project: Wildcat Vocabulary – Episode 1 Date: 6/24/2008 Scene Description: This is the second scene of the episode, which tells learners the theme tying all the vocabulary words together. All of the vocabulary words in this episode are used to describe whether things are real or not Functionality/Interactivity The purpose of this slide is to prompt students to think about their prior knowledge regarding truth and fiction. It also provides an organizing structure to help learners encode these words into their long-term memory.

Multimedia Storyboard Project: Wildcat Vocabulary – Episode 1 Date: 6/24/2008 Scene Description: This is the third scene for vocabulary word #1, and it presents the word in a sentence. Functionality/Interactivity This scene helps the learners encode the word into their memory by presenting the word in a context-rich sentence. The topic of the sentence is baseball, something the learners have likely heard of.

Details This is another layout from the same design template set as

the previous slides, with the same red and blue bar. The vocabulary word is in the same font, but is now in dark gray to contrast with the light background. This layout provides a large space so that the picture can be as big as possible.

Functionality/Interactivity The purpose of this slide is to present a new vocabulary word to learners. The learners are then asked to pronounce the word with the narrator.

Details To present the next vocabulary word, I used the same layout

as the slide used to present the first vocabulary word. By sticking to a consistent layout, I will be able to help learners focus on the content rather than searching for the information. At this point, they should expect that a definition will appear on the next slide. I am also maintaining a consistent structure for the audio narration. After hearing this word presented in the same way as the first word, learners will begin to anticipate hearing the word and being asked to pronounce it with the narration.
