Simultaneous imaging in several wavelength bands corresponding to different plasma temperatures

Applications:

- A diagnostic tool (homogeneous plasma)

- At-once temperature distributions across non-homogeneous structures and boundary conditions

- Heating and dissipative processes in short-time scale

- Mass motions by absorption

- Density distributions, abundances etc.

Conclusions

1. The SPIRIT experiment was the first to show high efficiency of simultaneous imaging in multi-temperature bands far before SDO.

2. SPIRIT has demonstrated new original spectroscopic techniques: imaging in MgXII line, full-Sun spectra, EUV coronagraph with outer occulter. New class of hot solar structures was observed with the MgXII channel.

3. The SPIRIT spectroscopic data can be used for studying of various solar structures: flares, active regions, post-eruptive arcades, eruptive prominences, coronal holes, etc.
