Multi-Vendor terMinal Verification End-to-end terminal testing across real network technologies The service minimizes the risk inherent in the interaction of devices from different vendors within the customer’s network. The process takes into account the balance between risk minimization, economic considerations and the influential impact any issues can have on end-user perception of the network device. Testing is done in Ericsson locations with a real Ericsson network using a cabled RF signal. Testing can also be done over the air. The result is an agreed test report with the customer signed by Ericsson. Service description Platform developers and handset vendors need to test how wireless devices interact with Ericsson infrastructure before launching their products. Ericsson offers a range of technologies that enable this testing to be conducted effectively and efficiently. Multi-Vendor Terminal Verification (MVTV) verifies and tests the interoperability of devices in an end-to-end 2G/3G environment. This enables the testing of devices that are being developed to support GERAN, UTRAN and UMAN radio access technologies: GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, WCDMA, HSPA and UMA.

It is crucial to ensure that the new handsets provide the high quality of service anticipated by the operators and their end-users.The MVTV service puts two key factors into the focus of testing: the air interface, which is specific to mobile communication with all its difficulties and, the end-to-end performance, which ensures the device offers maximum functionality.BenefitsThe MVTV service offers a tailored solution to meetyour needs: End-to-end verification of handsets, networksand servicesTesting across all radio access technologiesIsolation of interoperability and functional issuesFull testing of new technology prior to commercial launch. Key facts:Ericsson has established testing relationships with more than 50 device/chipset vendors, including all major players in the marketDue to Ericssons role in the mobile industry as a handset platform vendor, device vendor and system vendor, Ericsson is involved in everyphase of the device life cycleEricsson has experience in validating handsets according to major operators specific network requirements.deliverablesTo address different customers needs, Ericsson offers two versions of this service:Multi-Vendor terminal Verificationfor developersThis service provides device platform developers with radio frequency remote network access while the device is under development. The scope of the testing is defined and led by the customer. This testing takes place at the customers facilities. Multi-Vendor terminal Verificationfor vendorsConducted with an Ericsson defined scope at an Ericsson lab, the purpose of this service is to perform device interoperability in an end-to-end 2G/3G environment. The scope of testing is agreed with the device vendor and then carried out by Ericsson or together with the vendor.related servicesIf required, interoperability of applications like MMS, IMS and streaming can be tested during the terminal verification process. Multi-Vendor Terminal Verification for operators is performed at the operator's lab and/or live network. The purpose of this service is to ensure a smooth launch as well as quality of the device by testing within the operator's network configuration and technology.taking you forwardEricsson is shaping the future of Mobile and Broadband Internet communications through its continuous technology leadership. Providing innovative solutions in more than 140 countries, Ericsson is helping to create the most powerful communication companies in the world.
