What are the benefits of an MDIO? An official structure recognised by RI Ongoing agreement between districts; does
not have to be renewed annually like the sister pacts
Official communication channels between the districts involved
Enables the pooling of resources and knowledge for the gain of all districts concerned
What are the benefits of an MDIO?Specific to the Asia Pacific Region: As the official meeting of the Asia Pacific
MDIO, the APRRC would become formally recognised by RI, and the process of organising it would be formalised
We can create a central repository for our shared resources, and ensure they are translated into the languages commonly used in our region
How do you form an MDIO?
Create a working party of current DRRs and DRREs, and advisers (PDRRs & Rotarians)
Select one of the working party members to be the team leader to drive the process
Ensure all working party members have copies of the Sample Guidelines for MDIOs and the sample ballot and approval forms provided by RI
How do you form an MDIO?
Working party to determine the scope of the MDIO; what information will it provide, and how?
Once Guidelines and By-Laws have been developed by the working party, set a deadline for districts to agree to seek approval
DRRs to seek approval of their clubs and DGs to join the MDIO
How do you form an MDIO?
Completed approval forms to be returned to the team leader
Team leader submits Guidelines, By-Laws, and completed approval forms along with a covering letter explaining why the districts wish to form a new MDIO to RI
… wait for General Secretary to approve (or not…)
