• 17,083 trees mulched (a 30% increase from 2008)
• Total of 29 chipping sites and an additional 60 drop off sites across all five boroughs
• 10,000 Biodegradeable Mulchfest Plastic Bags provided by The Home Depot
• 25 media outlets covered Mulchfest, including coverage by NY1, WNBC, WCBS, and Fox
Mulchfest 2009 provided New Yorkers with a convenient and free
opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees into “mulch” for personal use.
