November 24, 2019

www.mulberrymethodist.org

Followers of Jesus at Mulberry St UMC,

I give thanks to God for the privilege of witnessing the generosity of God’s people from my position as your pastor! And I give thanks to God for your generosity!

Commitment Sunday on November 10th we remembered the vows we took at our baptism to “faithfully…participate in the

ministries of the church by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness….”

The chart below will provide a status of our stewardship campaign as of November 18th and a comparison of the last two

years’ pledge numbers:

Furthermore, here is how your church leadership is contributing their pledges:

Consider this:

If the entire church pledged $1000.00/year ($83.33/month; $20.83/week) we will have pledged $1,184,000. Adding the annual (average) distribution from the Endowment ($326,844), we would nearly eliminate our deficit with a total of $1,510,844—not counting non-commitment contributions.

(A reminder: The church does not rely solely on pledges. In 2018, we received $287,527; in 2019 so far we’ve received $175,302 in “non-commitment contributions.” Pledges are important to assist your leadership in assessing commitment and good budget planning.)

I will continue to keep you informed in the coming weeks as we continue to receive pledges and gifts. If you haven’t made a pledge yet, it is NOT too late! You may return the blue pledge card in the offering plate on Sundays, bring it by the office, or call the church office and talk to our business administrator, Karen Carter (478-745-8601.) Remember that you may also set up automatic bank or credit/debit card drafts for your contributions—or make one-time contributions) on our website at https://mulberrymethodist.org/give.

I am, your brother….

In Christ,

Matt
