TRANSCRIPT
MTM & Robotics 2012
The Joint International Conference of
the XI International Conference on Mechanisms and Mechanical Transmissions (MTM)
and the International Conference on Robotics (Robotics’12)
Clermont-Ferrand, France, June 6-8, 2012
Organized by
Pascal Institute (CNRS, IFMA, UBP) and
Department of Mechatronics (UPT) at the
French Institute for Advanced Mechanics in
Clermont-Ferrand, France
Under the Patronage of IFToMM and RSR
International Federation for the Promotion of
Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM)
Robotics Society of Romania (RSR)
With the support of
Blaise Pascal University (UBP)
CNRS
French Institute for Advanced Mechanics
(IFMA)
University “Politehnica” of Timisoara (UPT)
Aim
The aim of the joint conference is to bring
together researchers, scientists, industry
experts and PhD students to provide a
general forum for researchers, engineers and
PhD students involved in the general area of
mechanisms, mechanical transmissions,
robotics and mechatronics, to disseminate
their latest research results and exchange
views on the future research directions of
these fields.
Topics
We are looking for original, high-quality
contributions addressing (but not limited to)
the following topics:
MTM
Mechanisms – analysis and synthesis
Dynamics of mechanisms and machines
Mechanical Transmissions
Precision mechanics, Biomechanics,
Mechatronics
Micromechanisms and Microactuators
Computational and Experimental Methods
CAD in mechanism and machine design
Robotics
Mechanical design of robot architecture
Parallel robots, Mobile robots
Micro and nano robots
Sensors and actuators in robotics,
Intelligent control systems
Biomedical engineering
Teleoperation, haptics, virtual reality
Deadlines

Acceptance notification: December 15, 2011
Final paper submission: January 15, 2012
Registration
The registration fees are:
Early Registration/IFToMM Members: 300 Euros
Registration after February 15, 2012: 400 Euros
Students/Accompanying Person: 200 Euros
The registration fee includes attendance of the
conference, one copy of the proceedings, 3 lunches,
refreshment breaks and the conference gala dinner.
Early registration is before February 15, 2012.
Venue
The joint conference will be held in Clermont-
Ferrand, at the French Institute for Advanced
Mechanics (IFMA). The organization of this joint
conference is part of a series of scientific and
cultural events celebrating the 20 years of IFMA.
Clermont-Ferrand is the capital of Auvergne, a
region of the centre of France, with an incredible
diversity of landscapes (a range of dormant
volcanoes which is unique in Europe, wild gorges,
lakes and mountain peaks). Homeland of Blaise
Pascal, the region has a rich history and culture
whose charm we invite you to discover. Clermont-
Ferrand is easily accessible from all countries by
plane, train or car (see website). The previous
editions were held in Romania, beginning in 1972
under the patronage of IFToMM and RSR. This is the
first edition to be organized outside Romania and
we hope to give it a strong international flavour.
