    From WirelessOrbitThis guide will walk you through setting up MikroTik RouterOS to work withWireless Orbit. If you need information on installing or upgrading a MikroTikrouter, please consult the external links section of the MikroTik page of this wiki.

    This guide assumes you're using MikroTik's WinBox interface to configure therouter. The same configuration options apply if you're using the command lineinterface, although individual steps will be a little different.

    Hotspot SetupAfter logging into the router via WinBox, click onIPand then Hotspotto get to the Hotspot Setupdialog box. From there go through the basichotspot configuration. This involves setting up theIP addresses and interfaces used by the router.Consult the MikroTik RouterOS documentation fordetails about this part of the configuration.

    When you're done, you should see something like

    the image to the right. From the Hotspotwindow:

    Click on the ProfilesbuttonDouble click on hsprof1

    Check/enable the Use RADIUScheckboxCheck/enable theAccountingcheckboxUncheck/disable the Interim Updatecheckbox

    Click on the LogintabCheck/enable the HTTP PAPcheckboxClick on GeneraltabCheck/enable the Hotspot Addresscheckbox and enter the LAN IP of thegatewayCheck/enable the DNS Namecheckbox andenter the full host name of the gatewayFrom the HTML Directorypulldown select"hotspot"Click on the OKbutton along the right side ofthe window

    User Profile Configuration

    If you're following along, clicking OKshould havetaken you back to the Hotspot Server Profiles

    window. From there close that window and you'llbe back at the Hotspotwindow. If you're notthere, get there. From the Hotspotwindow:

    Click on the UserstabClick on the ProfilesbuttonRemove any profiles other than defaultbyselecting them and clicking on the -(minussign) at the top of the windowDouble click on the defaultprofileDisable/uncheck the Session TimeoutcheckboxMake sure there is nothing selected in theIdle TimeoutpulldownMake sure there is nothing selected in theKeepalive TimeoutpulldownClick on the OKbutton along the right side ofthe window

    Walled Garden Configuration

    If you're following along, clicking OKshould have taken you back to the HotspotUser Profileswindow. From there close that window and you'll be back at theHotspotwindow. If you're not there, get there. From the Hotspotwindow:

    Click on theWalled GardentabClick on the +(plus sign) buttonIn theActionradio buttons, selectAllow

    In the Serverpulldown, select "hotspot1"In the Dst. Hostblank enter "*.wirelessorbit.com"In the "Dst. Port" blank enter "443"In a similar fashion, add the hostnames of any payment gateways you'reusingClick on the OKbutton along the right side of the window

    RADIUS Configuration

    If you're following along, clicking OKshould have taken you back to the Hotspotwindow. From there, select RADIUSfrom the left hand side of the screen. Fromthe Radiuswindow:

    Click on the +(plus sign) buttonCheck/enable the HotspotcheckboxUncheck/disable all the other service type checkboxesIn theAddressblank enter "69.36.234.20"

    In the Secretblank enter the secret key you defined in the RADIUS profilefor this gateway (in the Wireless Orbit Control Center). If you're not surewhat that is, just check the gateway details in the Gateways page of theControl Center.In theAuthentication Portblank enter "1812"In theAccounting Portblank enter "1813"Click OK

    Login Page Configuration

    The captive portal interface of your MikroTik router has to be redirected toWireless Orbit's hosted login portal. In order to do that, you'll need to upload asimple redirection page to your router. To do this, connect to your router with anFTP client and place the following file in the hotspotsubdirectory. Details of howto do this are given in the MikroTik documentation.

    The redirection page is:

    You can either cut and paste this to a file and upload it, or download

    mikrotik_login.zip, unzip the archive, and upload the HTML document inside.You need to edit this fileand replace the text IDin the form action with theportal ID for gateway. The portal ID is listed on the gateway details area in theGateways page of the Control Center.
