This summer has been a busy one

for me. In the month of June I was a

part of the mission team that went to

the American Indian Christian

Mission in Show Low, Arizona. It

was a great blessing to be a part of

the ministry taking place to the

Navajo and Apache Indians there.

Each morning our team worked at

the mission, performing various “odds

and ends” kind of jobs to improve the

buildings and grounds. Then in the

afternoon we traveled to different

neighborhoods of an Apache

reservation to lead children in games,

crafts, music, and a Bible lesson.

Susan and I had the opportunity to

counsel three girls about baptism,

and the following morning we

witnessed nine baptisms! Praise the

Lord! I think we were a great

blessing to the mission and the

children to whom we ministered, but

just as importantly, they were a

tremendous blessing to us. Special

thanks to our mission team – Rick

Welton, Cody Monkman, Jim Roach,

Whitney and Morgan Runge, Barry

and Sherry French and their

granddaughter, Abby, and my family,

Susan, Hannah and Jackson. Special

thanks to our Quilters who shipped forty

quilts to the mission (they have made

165 quilts for the mission over the years),

and a very special thanks to all of you

who supported us with your prayers and

finances. You were a blessing to us, and

we could not have done this without you.

About 11 hours after we drove back to

Decatur from the airport in Blmgt/

Normal on Saturday night, I preached

here at MZCC, and then just a few hours

after our church services were over I was

off to Little Galilee Christian Camp for a

week with 5th and 6th graders. Of the 112

campers, 36 made decisions for Christ

and 24 were baptized! Glory be to God!

People often ask me questions about

various topics. Some are doctrinal, such

as, “Why does our church observe the

Lord’s Supper every Sunday?” Some are

practical, like, “Is church membership

necessary or important?” On September

4th we’re going to have an “Ask the

questions to me. You can e-mail them to

forward to hearing from you!

See you Sunday!
