Introduction

Purchased in 1979 by the Nitschke family to adjoining their existing Millers Creek, Mt Eba has proved

to be a wonderful piece of country with excellent stands of bush and very good underground water.

This bush country along with the good supplies of underground water have allowed for numbers to be

maintained over the years. Situated in the tightly held North-West pastoral region of South Australia in

premium northern sheep grazing country, Cattle are also run with success. Part of the Old Millers

Creek lease was added in 1994, In June 2007 the Prominent Hill Mining lease commenced. Mt Eba

agreed to destock certain areas for a couple of years with continuing compensation payments.

The top end of the property is now available to be restocked and this could mean an extra 3,000

wethers.

The owner has been improving waters and infrastructure during her tenure, making it a very attractive

property.

Mt Eba represents an opportunity to purchase a large, highly productive wool-growing, sheep and

cattle lease that has been able to maintain its numbers in all seasonal conditions.

In 1994 the lease was transferred from Millers Creek Pastoral Co to Rosslyn (Tossie) Nitschke together with the Old Millers Creek block. A stock maximum of 16,200 sheep equivalent was accepted then an additional 8,400 sheep equivalent was added to bring the current maximum to 24,600.

PASTURES & TOPOGRAPHY

There are a number of different land systems within the property including, Breakaway, Buckshot,

Mudla.

Breakaway in the north and west of the lease-

Complex of mesas, escarpments and gibber plains dominated by shrub lands of mulga, and northern

myall on the upper slopes, broad drainage lines with northern red gum and coolabah and gidgee.

Buckshot- covering 80% of old Mt Eba lease.

Mt Eba buckshot gravel plains, consisting of mulga, low open woodlands, with deadfinish, emubush,

low bluebush, Gilgai plains of saltbush, cottonbush, Mitchell grass, neverfail with mulga wood land

watercourses.

Mudla- in the West of lease

Undulating gibber plains of tablelands, consisting of saltbush, bladder saltbush glasswort and Mitchell

grass. Low hills of same with black bush nitrebush with water courses of Coolabah and Broughton

willow.

These systems create a wonderful balance of country and feed sources and the lease is well watered

and conservatively stocked.

Schedule of Waters The lease is extremely well watered predominantly by bores with all but one paddock permanently watered, solar tracker systems have been installed as required.

Mt Eba has 36 Bores with 14 Windmills, 15 Solar, 2 electric and 5 unequipped a number of large & opportunity dams supporting the underground water.

There are very few pipeline systems which is a real bonus for a management point of view.
