In these days following Pentecost as we celebrate God’s gift of the Holy Spirit, remember that while the Holy Spir-it is always working to move you to look to Jesus, Satan is always doing just the opposite. He is always tempting you to look at yourself.
One of the ways Satan gets us looking at ourselves is by his accusations: “Your sins are too big to be forgiven; your faith is too weak; you are not as joyful as a Christian should be; you don’t repent enough; you have not worked hard enough for the Kingdom of God.
The problem with all these thoughts that are focused on self is not necessarily that they are false. Some of them may be factually true, or they at least contain a seed of truth. The real problem is that whenever our attention is riveted inward on ourselves, we lose sight of Jesus.
Charles Spurgeon once wrote: “the Holy Spirit turns our eyes entirely away from self: He tells us that we are nothing, but that Christ is everything. Remember, therefore, it is not your hold of Christ that saves you– it is Christ; it is not your joy in Christ that saves you– it is Christ; it is not even your faith in Christ, although that is the instrument– it is Christ’s blood and merits. Therefore, do not look so much to your hand with which you are grasping Christ as to Christ; do not look to your hope but to Jesus, the source of your hope; do not look to your faith, but to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of your faith. We will never find happiness by looking at our prayers, our deeds, or our feel-ings; it is what Jesus is, not what we are, that gives rest to the soul.”
In all your temptations, fears, faults, and sins, go to Scripture and look at Jesus. Look at His holy life lived for you, look at His suffering and death by which God forgives you, look at His resurrection, look at His ascension to the Father’s right hand, look at His promise that He intercedes for you, look at His teaching given to guide you. By fixing the eyes of your faith on Jesus you will looking at the Truth and the Truth will set you free. In Christ, Pastor Jim Price

Wamego Blood Drive Tuesday, June 16th Noon to 6:00 p.m. @ First United Methodist Church To schedule your life-saving appointment Please vis-it www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS (733-2767).
Don’t forget to save time by using RapidPass to com-plete your pre-donation reading and health history online before you come to your appointment. More info: redcrossblood.org/RapidPass
During this uncertain time, the Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donations to prevent another blood shortage as hospitals resume surgical procedures and patient treatments that were temporarily paused earlier this spring in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• In recent weeks, hospital demand for blood products has grown by 30% after sharply declining in early April amid this rapidly changing and complex public health crisis.
• At the same time, blood drives continue to be canceled as
many businesses and community organizations remain closed.
• There is no known end date in this fight against coronavirus,
and the Red Cross urgently needs the help of donors and blood drive hosts to ensure blood products are readily avail-able for patients.
• It’s important to remember that blood is perishable and can-
not be stockpiled.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AT WAMEGO BLOOD DRIVE Checking temperatures of staff and donors before entering a drive to make sure they are healthy. Providing hand sanitizer for use before the drive, as well as throughout the donation process. Following social distancing between donors including entry, donation and refreshment areas. Wearing face masks or coverings for both staff and donors Routinely disinfecting surfaces, equipment and donor-touched areas. Wearing gloves, and changing gloves often. Using sterile collection sets and an aseptic scrub for every donation.
Each day, the American Red Cross assesses the need and opportunity for additional safety precautions. The health of our staff, volunteers and donors are every bit as important to us as that of the patients we serve.
Please look over the following guidelines for the health and safety of our congregation.
• If you feel ill, have a fever, cough, vomiting or diarrhea then we ask that you stay home and do not participate in Worship. If you have been in contact with someone that is ill, we would also ask that you stay home.
• If you have traveled, especially to those areas listed by the KDHE, then we ask that you self-quarantine for 14 days before attending worship.
• Cover your cough/sneeze and use at least 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer after. Use disposable facial tissue to sneeze into and then properly dispose of it. Wash your hands frequently.
• While worshiping be sure to maintain social distancing and continue to avoid close contact during our greetings. Use alternatives greetings versus handshakes.
• Limit to 1 family per pew when possible and skip a pew between families.
• Feel free to wear a mask if you feel more comfortable during worship. Masks will need to be removed prior to communion as to not interfere with the process.
• No bulletins will be provided during worship. Church information can be found on Constant Contact, by email, and via the church website.
• Those that are immunocompromised (weak immune systems) or are at higher risk should consider staying home. This would include but not be limited to those with heart disease, diabetes, asthma, COPD, emphysema or over 65 years of age.
• Please let the church office know if you have any special needs or prayer request as we transition.

ST. LUKE’S, MANHATTAN EARLY LEARNING CENTER
NOW HIRING
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Manhattan is ex-
cited to be moving to a brand new location and
expanding the Early Learning Center. Due to the
expansion and other needs, we are looking for
individuals to join our ministry! We are very
proud of what has been built at the ELC and are
looking to add some more great people to care
for the families who entrust their children to our
care. We are looking for a lead toddler teacher,
lead preschool teacher, assistant teachers, float-
ers and a food service staff member. If you are at
all interested, or you know someone who might
be a good fit, please prayerfully consider how
God could use you! You can contact the ELC Di-
rector Laurie Powell at (785)539-2604
FATHER’S DAY—June 21 Fatherhood is not just a moment or special day! We celebrate them for the everyday things that make a difference in our lives!
For being there for our Mom … For not abandoning women by urging them to get an abortion … For picking us up when we fall … For helping us with homework …
For teaching us to ride a bike … For acting brave when you really aren’t … For making the tough decisions … For loving and disciplining us … For doing the right thing …
For taking us to church … For being faithful to God and to our family … For knowing each child is a wonderful gift from God - entrusted to you!

A special THANK YOU to all who volunteered to deliver.
PIECEMAKERS
Mt Calvary Piecemakers are ready
to officially start back up: 1st Tues-
day at 6:30 pm and 3rd Friday at
9:00 am. Generally our Tuesday
evening has the larger attendance
(10+) so if you prefer a smaller
group, Friday morning would be
preferable. *Attending both is fine!
Feel free to wear a mask.
June means Block-of-the-Month #6,
but some of you are eager beavers and way
ahead Others might need a little mentoring to fig-
ure out a HST or other issue. Quilters mentoring
new quilters. Several Piecemakers have worked
on the Surgical gowns for K-State vet school stu-
dents. That will continue thru the summer. And
there is still time to make the 6” flag block by June
17th. For every block you make your name goes
into the drawing. Winner takes all plus a special
panel. What a sweet mini quilt for July 4th!
(pattern and patriotic scrap fabric on the round ta-
ble in room 6).
