MSD 6 HVC PROFESSIONAL RACING IGNITIONwith DEUTSCH CONNECTORS, PN 6601

IMPORTANT: Due to the MSD 6 HVC's Ignition's increased output, the MSD HVC Coil, PN 8250is the only coil that can be used with the PN 6600 Ignition.

MOUNTINGThe Ignition can be mounted in any position and may be mounted in the engine compartmenthowever, it should be kept clear of direct engine heat sources. Use the Ignition as a template tomark the location of the mounting holes. Using 3/16" drill bit, remove the ignition and drill the holes.Install the vibration mounts and the ignition.

WIRINGFigure 1 shows the position, color and function of each wire. The following Figures show commonwiring schematics.

TriggeringThe MSD can be triggered by points, amplifier, or with a magnetic pickup.

Points: The single White wire of the MSD is for points triggering. It connects to the points/amplifieroutput wire of the distributor.

Magnetic Pickup: The Magnetic Pickup wires are in the 6-Pin connector. The Mag positive (+) wireis Violet, the Mag Negative(-) is Green. They are in the terminals marked "3" and "4".

Rev Control: The 4-Pin connector on the of the Ignition plugs directly into an MSD PN 8738 RevControl. This allows you to set a rev limit with plug-in modules.

The MSD 6 HVC Professional Racing Ignition, PN 6601, is equipped with a new style Deutschconnector. As of 2/5/04, this connector is NOT approved for use in NASCAR competition. TheNASCAR approved connectors are installed on the MSD PN 6600 Ignition.

Limited WarrantyAutotronic Controls Corporation warrants MSD Ignition products to be free from defects in material

and workmanship under normal use and if properly installed for a period of one year from date of purchase.If found to be defective as mentioned above, it will be replaced or repaired if returned prepaid along withproof of date of purchase. This shall constitute the sole remedy of the purchaser and the sole liability ofAutotronic Controls Corporation. To the extent permitted by law, the foregoing is exclusive and in lieu ofall other warranties or representations whether expressed or implied, including any implied warranty ofmerchantability or fitness. In no event shall Autotronic Controls Corporation be liable for special orconsequential damages.

Service

In case of malfunction, this MSD component will be repaired free of charge according to the terms of thewarranty. When returning MSD components for service, Proof of Purchase must be supplied for warrantyverification. After the warranty period has expired, repair service is charged based on a minimum andmaximum charge.

Send the unit prepaid with proof of purchase to the attention of: Customer Service Department,Autotronic Controls Corporation, 12120 Esther Lama, Suite 114, El Paso, Texas 79936.

When returning the unit for repair, leave all wires at the length in which you have them installed. Be sureto include a detailed account of any problems experienced, and what components and accessories areinstalled on the vehicle.

The repaired unit will be returned as soon as possible after receipt, COD for any charges. (Groundshipping is covered by warranty). All units are returned regular UPS unless otherwise noted.
