MSB has achieved several milestones since its inception (2003). Some of its accomplishments include the implementation of well-recognized and novel two-year postgraduate full-time programme in Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology and three-year undergraduate full-time programme in Biotechnology and Computer Applications.

It is our continuing endeavor to keep abreast of the challenges and opportunities in the IT and Biotechnology sectors. We have been fine-tuning the programme in terms of Utkal University pedagogy and pre-placement training skills, with a view to providing best academic insights and corporate exposures. MSB has also taken the initiative to earn accreditation from top global IT and Biotechnology companies. The institute was established in the year 2003 with due recognization from Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha and affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. MSB was the first professional college in Bhubaneswar to offer M.Sc. in Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology, B.Sc. in Biotechnology and Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA). M.Sc. Applied Microbiology 64 2 Years B.Sc. with any of the subjects (Botany / Zoology/Microbiology/Agriculture/Forestry/ Fishery/Horticulture/Env. Science as Honours/ Pass subject with 50% as aggregate.

BCA Bachelor in 128 3 Years +2 Science/Commerce/Arts (Mathematics/ Computer Application Statistics / Business Mathematics as one of the subject) minimum 40% aggregate.

ITM* Bachelor in 120* 3 Years +2 Science/Arts/Commerce/Diploma with IT & Management minimum 40% aggregate.

The department imparts two M.Sc. programs (Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology) and B.Sc. in Biotechnology.
