This is my eighth year of teaching fifth grade.

I have also taught three and ½ years of 4th grade and ½ of a year as a teaching assistant.

Received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and my bachelors from ISU.

The Daily 5 Will ensure that all children are working at

their level of challenge while taking responsibility for their learning and behavior.

Will provide meaningful instruction blocks. The Daily Five-(we are only using four) is a

series of literacy tasks (reading to self, reading with someone, writing, and word work) which students complete daily while the teacher meets with small groups or confers with individuals.

The Daily Five is a structure that will help students develop the daily habits of reading, writing, and working with peers that will lead to a lifetime of independent literacy.

Mrs. Stortz and Ms. Vlakancic: utilize EDMath and CCSS, accelerated pace with small & whole group instruction; opportunities for re-teaching and extenstion. Mrs. Maaske will push into these classrooms daily
