• Renaissance stands for “Rebirth”• It was the revival of Arts and High cultures

that began somewhere in Italy around the 14th century and ended in Europe during the 16th century.

• Defining the musical era was difficult. Musicologist assumed that it started as early as 1300 to 1470

Renaissance era, there were lots of new discovers and inventions.

• Operas began during the renaissance due to the change in music idea

• The new world was discovered.

• Famous painting was made such as the Mona Lisa

• The reissuance was a very violent time period.

• Many wars and battles caused many death

• They also had many games held inside kingdoms that would determine who was most worthy to be in arms.

• Many didn’t survive.

• The passion of music grew tremendously

• Music during this period was mostly written for High class Nobles who could afford well coordinated music

William Byrd• William Byrd was born

in the late 1539. Died on July 4th 1623.

• Was an English Composer of the Renaissance age.

• Byrd's first known professional employment was as an organist of Lincoln Cathedral.

William Byrd• Since he started out

with his profession in the Church, He wanted to make music for not only his church, but other people as well.

Josquin Des Prez

• He was born around 1440 A.D. in France

• Josquin's early life has been the subject of much scholarly debate, and the first solid evidence of his work comes from a roll of musicians associated with the cathedral in Cambrian in the early 1470s.

Josquin Des Prez

• During the late 1470s and early '80s, he sang for the courts of René I of Anjou and Duke Galeazzo Maria Sforza of Milan

• From 1486 to about 1494 he performed for the papal chapel.

• Basically, all his musical talents started with inside his Cathedral.

• His passion for music, same as William, is very strong and his music is widely known for its amazement and enjoyment

• Renaissance architecture is the architecture of the period between the early 15th and 17th centuries in different places in Europe, demonstrating a conscious revival and development of certain elements of ancient Greek and Roman culture.

autobiography , so little is known about his early adult hood

• He mostly became famous after he was noticed for being a very talented artist

• Michelangelo was born on 6 March 1475 in Caprese near Arezzo, Tuscany.

• He was a humble man.“Though I may be rich, I live like a poor man”• He lived an abstemious

life

• Michelangelo had a high love for the beauty of male nudity.

• Michelangelo's art there is clearly a sensual response to this aesthetic

• He also had a love for his church, which he showed his representation of what he imagined.

Michelangelo's Pietà, a depiction of the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion, was carved in 1499, when the sculptor was 24 years old
