Did you know that Forest Rangers haxe discovered the! one of the causes ot forestfires Is old empty bottles? A g l m botUo, whits or clear and thick may concentratethe sun's rays, much as a magnifying glass will do, and cause grass or dry leaves tocatch fire spontaneously, especially In these dry times. So If you see an old bottle forgoodness sake pick It up to relegate to your trash. You will be astounded to find howhot it gets In the sun's rays.

PROBLEMS ON THECAUSEWAY
(a sort of an editorial)
It has been reported to theIslander thattheCauscwayParkIs In about the same conditionthat Turner Park waa a coupleof years ago Just after It wasopened Nice rees have beenplaned, picnic tables placed Inspots where the view is quitenice, shell drives and parkingareas laid out and a nice reat-room built for the public Themain problem has been thatthere is no water to the rest-rooms and so they hsve notbeen opened The fact that thishas not been done is to us,rather an inflult to anyone whopays $3 00 to go out on theCauseway to flth shell sw mor just relax, f-or $3 00 webelieve that you should havesomething better than either adirty restroom or a closed one
According to l,ee County of-ficials it will not be too longwhen the toll fee will Includethese facilities • In the verynear future electricity andwater will be In Pinna havebeen received and O K d forti e hanging of water lines fromthe Chamber ol Commercebulletins area and that problemwill be solved Electricity willalso come from power lines onthe Ialand and will be hung frompoles which we hope to havelighted Money for the con-struction Is to come from ori-ginal building costs and win notcost the taxpayer anythingwhich we think is rather un-usual for this area
County Park Director ParkPlgott hBB been authorized tohire two traveling Janitors *to take care of both the Cause-way Recreation Area and Tur-ner Park. These men will cleaneach area frequently, cleaningthe restrooms, beach and park-ing areas and taking care ofthe trash cans This will be adecided improvement overpresent conditions and cannotstart too soon
While we believe that theseImprovements have taken yearstoo long to come about (Itshould have been done In theoriginal construction) we areglad, as all Islanders are, thatIt Is finally going to happen
