hard to give you a speaker that not only performsto JBL's standard but to the increasingly discerningear of your audience.

SonicGuard™ Circuitry lets you turn yourperformance up a notch. Or ten.

With the MR Series loudspeakers, loudis the operative word. And withSonicGuard™ Circuitry, you can pushthe level with little fear of blowing aspeaker. Offering dual protection,SonicGuard™ circuitry monitors sus-tained average long-term power lev-els against thermal stress and instan-taneous peaks against mechanical stress. Andunlike other protection circuitry, SonicGuard™ isinaudible. An indicator light on the input terminalcup illuminates when SonicGuard™ is activelycompressing the audio signal. This allows you tomonitor your performance without interrupting it.What's more, because musical transients con-tribute to the character of music, SonicGuard™circuitry only activates on thepeaks that threaten the high-fre-quency driver while lettingthrough non-damaging peaksunaltered. The result is clear,crisp, loud sound.

HF Compression Driver built to takea beating without a peep.

With highly automated construction andadvanced features, the JBL 2418H compressiondriver performs well beyond the industry stan-

dard. In fact, all MR models are required by JBL tohandle their rated power for 300 hours without so

much as a buzz. The industry only requires 2 to 8hours. Advanced engineering contributes to the

MR's flawless performance.JBL utilizes a coil curing technology that cre-

ates an indestructible bond between the coil andthe Kapton coil former, eliminating the threat of

rubs or buzzes developing inthe field. Plus, using Kapton

material for the coil former pro-vides over twice the thermal

transfer capabilities of the morecommonly ut i l ized mater ia l .

Maintaining its shape even underextreme heat, the Kapton Coil former

offers worry-free reliability. A 1 millimeter thick pure titanium

diaphragm adds crispness and clarity toyour sound as the thin metal is ultra-

responsive to quick transients. To hold thediaphragm securely in place and offer

greater stability at high temperatures, the MRSeries is constructed with a metal back

cover. Usually found in more expensive procomponent drivers, the MR Series also uti-lizes a sophisticated annular slit phasingplug.

With a 100 x 80 dispersion pattern,JBL's Flat-Front Bi-Radial® horn repro-duces high frequency signals over awide coverage area. An important featurewhen a minimal number of speakers areavailable to cover a large listening area. Thehorn also provides close alignment of theacoustic centers of both the compressiondriver and low frequency transducer. Theresult is superior system clarity and articula-

tion, particularly in the speech range.

SHG™ cast frame woofer.The low frequency transducers found in the

MR Series are designed exclusively for the line.To ensure maximum efficiency and heat

dissipation for a high acoustic output, we'veused an impressive 16 lb magnet assembly. Forsolid, clean bass output, harmonic distortion

elements are suppressed and controlledthrough the application of SelectiveHarmonic Geometry (SHG™) technolo-gy in the pole piece design. To signifi-cantly increase power handling, a

Thermoset Composite™ voice coilemploying a fiberglass former and ultra-

high temperature adhesives was developed.And for maximum travel and linearity of thecone, MR Series features lacquer dipped curvi-

linear cones for superior strength and rigidity.

Re-engineered for increased performance.All MR Series crossover networks are

engineered to provide smooth transitionsbetween the system transducers. With steeper

sloped filters, the frequency bands of the drivers roll off quickly to prevent interference

between the two drivers. The result issmoother sound in the crossover region as

well as better off-axis sound. For convenience and versatility

of hook-up, the MR Series isequipped with both a NeutrikSpeakon® input connectorand two 1/4" input jacks.

MR926The MR926 is a horn-loaded 3-way

loudspeaker with a 15" LF driver andpure titanium compression driver on a 100˚

x 80˚ Flat-Front Bi-Radial® horn. With its largersize and directional wings, it delivers sound

with extra punch while directing more of thelow frequency sound to your audience.

crossover network allows you to "loop through"to additional cabinets without needing to run

additional "home run" cables to the amplifier.Built to withstand years on the road, the

crossover network is mounted on a deeprecessed terminal cup. So if the speaker is

accidentally pushed up against a wall or over onit's back, the connectors are protected.

Built for the road.The MR Series enclosures are fabricated of

Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with features such ashardwood stiffeners, fiberglass acoustic lining,heavy-duty component mounting hardware, high-grade Valox™ corner protectors and comfort-fithandles.

The exterior of the enclosures is finished in arugged pebble-finish Tolex®. The speakercomponents are protected by an 18-gaugeperforated steel grille. And for use with ourM4612BK tripod, a 35mm standmount recep-tacle is standard.

With the exception of the MR902 andMR905, the MR Series cabinets are designedin a trapezoidal shape to allow two or morespeakers to be splayed for wider horizontalcoverage. The corner protectors are designedwith interlocking feet so that those models ofthe same width and depth can be safelystacked.

MR918An 18" low frequency transduceranchors this powerful bass system.The volume and tuning technologywithin the enclosures are designedto optimize low-end response forsound reinforcement subwooferapplications or as the drivingbass element in a DJ playbacksystem. The extended high fre-quency response also make itideal as a full-range bassinstrument speaker system.

MR905This low profile, compact two-way system combines a 15" low frequencytransducer with a pure titaniumdiaphragm compression driver mount-ed to a on a Flat-Front Bi-Radial® horn.Like the MR902, the MR905 also givesyou the choice of 30˚ or 60˚ angles forincreased versatility. MR902

Designed to provide either 30˚ or 60˚ play-back angles, the compact two-way systemfeatures a 12" low frequency transducerand a pure titanium diaphragm compres-sion driver on a Flat-Front Bi-Radial® horn.

MR935For warm, realistic sound, the MR935 com-bines a 15" low frequency transducer, 8"cone midrange, and a pure titanium com-pression driver on a Flat-Front Bi-Radial®horn. The MR935 is extremely versatile. Itworks well as a sound reinforcement sys-tem, as a side-or front-fill monitor, on-stagedrum system or as a full-range DJ musicplayback system.

MR938The MR938 integrates a 18" low frequencytransducer, 10" cone midrange, and a puretitanium compression driver on a Flat-FrontBi-Radial® horn. A larger version of theMR935, it features very warm mid-band

reproduction. Used as a sound reinforce-ment system, the MR938 is also the perfect

on-stage drum system or full-range DJmusic playback system. Match with

MR918 subwoofer for even greaterbass output.

MR922As the most compact system in the MRSeries, the MR922’s small size and bigsound make it roadworthy and perfectfor speech and vocal reinforcementapplications. Mated to a subwoofer/basssystem, it offers higher level music play-back. The standmountable MR922 features a 12" low frequency transducermatched with a pure titanium compres-sion driver on a 100˚ x 80˚ Flat-Front Bi-Radial® horn.

MR925As a stage speaker or a pole mountedspeaker, the MR925 is a truly great generalpurpose sound reinforcement system forspeech or vocals, full-range music playback,or reproduction of amplified musical instru-ments. It's built with a 15" low frequencytransducer and a pure titanium compression

driver on a 100˚ x 80˚ Flat-Front Bi-Radial® horn.The LF driver produces strong bass output whilethe compression driver/horn smoothly dispersesmid-and high-frequencies over an optimumfield.
