MISSION OF THE MQC COLLEGE LIBRARY

To pursue excellence in all library services, where the users interests will be our main concern. In doing so, we will use a system to deliver information and services which meet standards, in order to enrich college life with a well-managed and comfortable learning environment.

• The College library is located at the ground floor of the campus.

• Regular Semester• The library is open from 8:00

AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and 9:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturdays

• 1. Technical – – 1.1 Acquisition – select books with

library committee, recommends and purchases and accessions all library materials.

– 1.2 Cataloging – catalogs, classifies and prepares records of newly acquired books before they are circulated.

• 2. Reader’s Services– 2.1 Circulation – contains all books

and non-book materials, written by foreign and local authors.

– 2.2 Reference section- Almanacs, dictionaries, encyclopedia, atlases, yearbooks, etc. are found in this section.

– 2.3 Periodical section – Journals, newspaper, magazines and clippings are found in this section.

– 2.4 Special collection – Scriptural, Spiritual and Devotional Books are found in this section.

• 3. Audio Visual Room– exclusively for viewing purposes only

and not to be used as classroom. It houses and circulates a collection of media materials and equipment for viewing. All media materials are to be used only in the AVR.

and easy access and retrieval of updated information and materials.

To assist users in exploring and using electronic resources over the Internet, the library provides Internet facilities for searching. The following are the rules, and regulations in using the facilities:

1. Internet access is provided to bonafide students of MQC. 

2. Students are to secure their Library Cards / Internet Cards in order to avail of this service.

3.  One computer per student policy will be strictly enforced and only those using computers will be allowed in this area.

4. Accessing obscene or indecent websites and participating in on-line games via the terminals are prohibited.

5. Copying of copyright work is an act restricted by the copyright ordinance. Users should therefore make sure that there is no infringement of copyright when downloading or printing materials from the internet.

6. No Bags will be allowed inside this area.

7. Users should maintain silence while using the facilities.

8. Chairs must be returned to proper place after using.

– The MQC Library practices the open shelf system. Borrowers are free to go to the shelves to select the books they need.• Books are arranged numerically on the

shelves from 000-999 or by Dewey Decimal Classification and arranged alphabetically by authors in the same class.

– Students without LIBRARY CARD cannot borrow books and avail of any library service. Library cards are non-transferable. Library card without picture is invalid.

– Proper dress code should be observed.

• No bags should be taken within the stack room when choosing books

• Silence must be observed in this library to give respect to other users.

• Mobile phone are to be turned off when inside the library

• Eating is strictly prohibited inside the library.

• any borrower who shall deface, mutilate or appropriate for himself or steal any library property shall be subject to disciplinary action

• 1. All bonafide students, faculty members, staff, and administrators of MQC.

• 2. Alumni of the school with proper identification.

• 3. Visitors and students of other educational institutions with a referral letter signed by their librarians / school heads.

• 4. All Bible Study students and other students through the school’s Community Outreach Program.

• 1. Library cards are non-transferable, as such borrowing privileges must be exercised personally.

• 2. Students must present Library Cards when borrowing Library materials.

• 3. Students may borrow a maximum of two (2) books of different titles at one given time.

• 4. Reserve books may be borrowed overnight , to be taken out at 4:00 PM and to be returned at 9:00 AM the following school day.

• 5. books may be borrowed for 3 days.• 6. Special collection, Reference and

Periodical materials are for library use only but maybe taken out for photocopying purposes for 30 minutes.

• 7. Overdue books cannot be renewed.

– Failure to return a borrowed material on a specified date is subject to pay the necessary fine.

– Circulation Books – P 5.00 / day– Reserve books - P 2.00 / hour– Reference books/periodicals/special

collections – P 2:00 / hour– AVR materials- P5.00 / hour / item.– A student is not allowed to borrow

materials unless his/her financial obligation in the library has been settled.

• 1. Lost book / material must be reported at once. Penalty should be settled within the week.

• 2. A lost book must be paid at its current market value plus processing fee.

• 3. Missing pages should be reported before borrowing the book.
