relays. The output switches up to

300 VAC or DC with programmable

wait duration of 1 to 10,000

    milliseconds.

    10 binary inputs

Uses Boolean logic to program binary inputs and provide a low

cost closed loop power system simulator for real-time feedback

within complex power system simulations. Suitable for relays that

gate a DC voltage or for t iming circuit breakers when the timer is

to start when DC voltage is applied to trip coil. Accepts a voltage

range of 5 to 300 VAC or DC.

    4 slots for voltage current

    generator modules (VIGEN)

give the user a choice of different

    generator configurations by

    providing phase A, B, C and an

available 4th slot for use as a 4th

    phase polarizing voltage, or residua

    voltage and/or current, or other

    required sources.

    Battery simulator

Eliminates the need for another power source by

simulating substation battery voltage by supplying

a DC voltage to solid state relays. It provides

variable output voltage from 5 to 250 volts DC

with a maximum output of 100 watts or 4 amps

depending on output voltage. A lighted value will

be given to the voltage that is powered ON.

    Measurements (DC IN)

For testing transducers, the DC IN

    will allow measurements up to

10 volts DC or 20 milliamps

    of current.

    Earth ground jack

    Provides additional safety ground and

is used to connect the chassis to earth

    ground.

    Power on/off switch

The MPRT is already recognized around the world as a premier relay and protection test set. Our new

and enhanced MPRT8445 now gives you a more integrated solution with extensive enhancements

and improved functionality. With constant power output (CPO) of 30 amps at 200 VA per phase, the

MPRT8445 has the flexibility to test any relay. It produces improved power output sustainable through the

entire power curve during a test. Customers have asked for a product that has high reliability, minimal

downtime and can work with their software. Customers want smarter test sets. The MPRT8445 now

combines all those advantages making it smarter. Megger Smart.

    On lightModular design

Each unit is built to your specification. It

gives you flexibility to order with three

or four modules unit. With four voltage/

current generator modules the unit can

provide four phases of voltage and current

or with voltage channels convertible to

currents you can reconfigure the unit

to provide up to a maximum of eight

    currents.

    Incoming power

The MPRT can be used anywhere in the world with

its input source rating of 100 to 240 VAC (+10%)

50/60Hz and automatically adjusts to the available

    power within a specific range.

AVTS represents over 29 years of Meggers experience with automatic relay

testing. AVTS is designed to manage all aspects of relay testing using the

new SMRT and MPRT units. From normal maintenance steady-state to fully

automatic One-Touch tests, end-to-end dynamic or DFR playback tests, or

IEC61850 testing, AVTS provides a wide range of test capabilities. The new

AVTS 4.2 software now includes hundreds of ready to run relay test modules,

including dozens of One-Touch test modules for General Electric-type UR and

SEL relays. One-Touch test modules automatically download settings from the

relays and provide fully automated testing of the relays.

Megger also offers extended software support where users get access to the

Megger AVTS User Forum. Here customers can download or upload relay test

modules, query the technical support group or converse with other users for

help in the general discussion section. The AVTS Forum also has an extensive

library of application guides, tutorial power points and videos that are also

    available to download.

With PowerDB Advanced (which runs the STVI software) bundled with AVTS

Basic, provided with every unit, customers will certainly realize the added

benefits of the software when compared to the competition, making Megger

    products Megger Smart.

    AVTS Advanced

This software version includes all the features found in Basic, plus these

    additional capabilities:

Test EditorThis powerful tool eliminates the writing or editing of test macros. Instead,

using a series of icons and wizards, test functions are defined and then

automatically assembled and connected for you.

You can also use a special connections editor, which provides a graphical

display of each connection between the MPRT and the relay being tested.

    New Dynamic Control

This new feature streamlines the process of setting up multi-state, dynamic

tests that are usually associated with trip and reclosing schemes.

Using the dynamic control function you can also build harmonic waveforms

with frequencies up to 1000 Hz. Then, use the recorder feature to measure

and graphically display the output analog waveforms for easier test result

    analysis.

New Recorder CapabilityIn conjunction with dynamic control, a built-in recorder allows you to view

and evaluate the actual output voltage and current waveforms, as well as any

selected binary inputs and or binary output contacts, without requiring any

expensive optional software/hardware, external transducers or shunts.

Use this feature to perform multi-shot reclosing tests, or to record sequence

of events for multi-state sequence testing of relays and relay protection

schemes. You can also capture the complex waveforms that were applied

using the new wave index feature.

    New Modbus Communications

This time saving new feature allows you to communicate directly with

particular relays using the Modbus protocol.

Now you can automatically download relay settings from a relay (using either

VB script or Modbus), into the AVTS relay settings screen. Using Modbuscommunications you can monitor a relays protection or metering elements,

eliminating the need to read meter values and manually input them into a

    result screen.

    New SSI File Converter

SSI Files are generated using power system simulation programs from

Electrocon CAPETMor ASPEN One-liner. Now these can be easily imported as

part of a standard, dynamic or even more complex relay test.

AVTS Advanced also incorporates specialized features for effective end-to-

end relay testing and a unique one-touch test (which uses Visual Basicscript

control and the group execute feature in AVTS, to automatically test the relay

to actual settings with one touch of the mouse).

    Advanced Visual Test Software

    Resized differentioal slope test screen.

Display of recorder capture feature in AVTS Software; SMRT/MPRT records voltage and

current outputs, and time-synchronous displays with binary inputs and outputs.

    AVTS Professional

This software version includes all of the features found in AVTS

Basic and Advanced. In addition, AVTS Professional provides the

capability of performing more sophisticated methods of relay

testing. It features special testing and editing tools for performing

playback of digital fault records or EMTP/ATP simulations that are

    in IEEE C37.111 Comtrade format.

A special waveform digitizer is also provided for digitizing the

waveforms, exporting them to a COMTRADE *.cfg and *.dat files

for playback through the MPRT. It can also be used to digitize the

    time-curve of electromechanical overcurrent relays.
