The learning focus areas and methodologies were designed in consultation with the college placement cell and the programme addressed the diverse aspects of management education and the corporate expectations, in order to build the skills required for management students to achieve peak performance in their career and life. The programme began on 20 June, 2017 with the Welcome Address by Dr. Geo Jos Fernandez, Dean, AIM and an Introductory Talk by the placement team. The class was divided into groups and they were taken through numerous activities by the resource persons in terms of ice breaking for blasting the mind blocks and removing the limiting beliefs of the students. Then mPOWER @ AIM the participants were made aware of various barriers to effective communication, with an emphasis on spoken English, presentation and public speaking skills and appropriate body language. The program also focused on building qualities of a successful management professional, positive attitude, leadership, team work, confidence building, reading, resume building, etc. using methodologies like Group activities, Management Games, Theatre based experiential learning, and Role plays. All the participants were felicitated with a Certificate; and the Team 'Ignite' emerged as the Champion team. Its members Ms. Niya Eddin, Ms. Jeena George, Ms. Ummu Kulzoom, Ms. Elizabeth Teema, Mr. Prannav Padmanabhan and Mr. Akshay were recognized with a Medal for their outstanding performance. Mr. Sudhir S. secured the 'Best Performer' award and Mr. John Jose was adjudged as 'Mr. mPOWER' of the 4-day programme. Mr. Bimal Thankachan and Ms. Ann Maria Sunny, volunteers of HelpAge India coordinated the competition with Ms. Dlisha Azeez and Ms. Amila Alex (President and secretary of Rotract Club of AIM), The third semester MBA students participated in the competition with the theme "AGEISM". On 15 June 2017 observed the world over as 'World Elders Abuse Awareness Day', our students also participated in a Signature Campaign in support of the above cause. Fr. Joesph Sherin, Asst. Manager, St. Albert's College and Dr. Sadanandan Vice Principal, St. Albert's College spoke on the necessity of voicing our opposition towards the abuse and suffering inflicted on the older generations. The prizes of the Poster Designing Competition were distributed to Ms. Gopu Prakash, Ms. Riya Jose and Ms. Nayana Vinod, who had secured first, second and third positions respectively. The talk was on creating awareness about the upcoming products and trends in the Insurance Sector, changes that may take place as a result of GST and also suggested feasible measures for improving the sector. The session was addressed by Mr. Randeep Singh, Chief General Manager, IRDA and Mr. P. Rajagopal, Secretary General of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. Ms. Sherin Joshy, Ms. Jahnavi Viswanath, Ms. Nayana Vinod, Ms. Maria Rose Agnes, and Ms. Maria Philip, Students of Third semester MBA along with their faculty member Mr. Nidhin Johny, attended the seminar, which was sponsored by Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. More Albertians Secure Placement Offers M ay and June turned out to be very eventful months for the passing out Albertians in terms of their major project and campus placement. 'Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company' visited the AIM campus and Mr. Denny P. D., Mr. Rohith R. and Mr. Davis Thomas were selected as Executive Trainees; Mr. Jojy Antony was waitlisted. Other students who received job offers were Ms. Maria Goretti from 'Uber', Mr. John P. J. from 'HDB Financial Services', Mr. Vishnu M. from 'Sterling Holiday Resorts' and Ms. Binsu Raju from 'Kerala Matrimony'. The students were also given opportunities in a few other noted organizations like Decathlon, DC Books, Abad Builders, Geojit Financial Services and Oyo Rooms. Round Table meeting with Shri. Akhilesh Mishra (The Ambassador of India to Maldives) F ICCI Kerala State Council has arranged a round table meeting with Shri. Akhilesh Mishra ,The Ambassador of India to Maldives with the President/Vice President of affiliated Chambers and Trade Bodies of FICCI, invitees from key selected sectors such as tourism, tour operations, education, health care, film industry and the overall general trade to Maldives on 16 June 2017. The discussion focused on existing bilateral trade between India and Maldives, and also on how to accelerate investments, joint ventures, and business ventures between these two countries in these sectors. Dr. Geo Jos Fernandez, representing the education sector has discussed the possibilities of collaboration of education Round Table meeting with the Ambassador sector in India with the Ministry of Education of Maldives and with the universities in Maldives. During this interaction, the Ambassador has offered all necessary support to FICCI, the business community and to the representatives for the promotion of trade and investment.

World Elders Abuse Awareness Day Observed @ AIM

The Rotract club of AIM and HelpAge India jointlyorganised a Poster Designing competition on 14 June

2017 in connection with 'World Elders Abuse AwarenessDay'. RBI Seminar on Monetary Policy

The Department of Economic and Policy Research,Reserve Bank of India conducted a seminar on 9

June 2017 at Hotel PGS Vedanta, Kaloor. The talk wasdelivered by Dr. Janak Raj, Principal Advisor, MonetaryPolicy Department of RBI on the topic 'Monetary Policy-Recent Developments'. Mr. Raj discussed about theMonetary Policy in India, Monetary Policy Transmission(MPT), Flexible Inflation Targeting (FIT) and InflationForecast Targeting (IFT). Interaction with 'Bajaj Allianz' Officials

AIM provided an opportunity for its thirdsemester students to interact with certain key

officials of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co. Ltd.,at the AIM campus. Mr. Senthil Raj - Zonal Sales Head,Ms. Divya Shukla - HR Manager and Mr. Jithesh G. -Area Agency Manager addressed the group anddeliberated on various trends in the financial andinsurance industries. They also advised the studentsto take up internships so as to have an idea of howthe business world works. Seminar @ KMA'My country, My Vision, & our Social Start-ups'

was the topic that was discussed by Mr. P.Vijayan IPS, Inspector General of Police, Kochi rangein the evening lecture series of KMA held atManagement House, Panampilly Nagar on 20 June2017. In his discourse on the various issues that affectthe Indian mentality towards start-ups, he told thecrowd that many of the well-known institutions inthe world today are headed by Indians. Mr. Vijayan'scommunity initiatives are many and he gave a pictureof how persons can be involved in social start-ups.

His community initiatives include a police call centreat Kozhikode, Pink autos programme inThiruvananthapuram for safe travel by women. He isalso an initiator of "Punyam Poonkavanam" - a projectto promote cleansing of waste at Sabarimala. He hasalso set up a Traffic Safety and Learning centre atThrissur and School protection groups. The students of Albertian Institute ofManagement, attended the Diamond Jubilee and

Annual Award Night conducted by KeralaManagement Association (KMA) on 23 June 2017 atLe Meridien Convention Centre. The Chief Guest ShriA.C. Moideen, Honorable Minister of Industry andSports, Government of Kerala inaugurated thefunction and also gave away the awards to thewinners.
