OBJECTIVES• To provide hands-on training on production of

margarine, shortening and vegetable ghee using palm oil, palm kernel oil and their fractions.

• To provide training on analytical procedures related to margarine, shortening and vegetable ghee from palm oil, palm kernel oil and their fractions.

• To update on other developments in the production of margarine, shortening and vegetable ghee from palm oil, palm kernel oil and their fractions.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?Individuals involved directly or indirectly in margarine, shortening, vegetable ghee or solid fats production such as product development, process management and quality management team members.

COURSE PROGRAMME

Date : 6-9 August 2018

Venue : MPOB Head Office, Bangi, Selangor

LECTURES• Introduction to palm-based oils and fats (palm oil,

palm kernel oil and their fractions).

• The suitability of palm-based oils and fats in the production of margarine, shortening and vegetable ghee.

• Colours, flavours and emulsifiers used in the production of margarine, shortening and vegetable ghee.

The course will be conducted in English and the lectures will be delivered by MPOB researchers and industry experts. Practical sessions will be held at MPOB facilities.

PARTICIPANTSNumber of participants is limited to 20 pax. Acceptance is based on first come first serve basis.

REGISTRATION FEENon-Malaysian : USD 500 per person.

Malaysian : RM 1500 per person.

Cheque and other form of payments should be made payable to “MALAYSIAN PALM OIL BOARD.’’

The fee will cover lecture notes, certificate and meals (lunch and two refreshments per day). Fee does not include air ticket and accommodation.
