I. Awareness Program for Auto Drivers

B. Objective of Training 1. Improvements in the behavioral aspect of the stakeholders in tourism
2. Introducing them to their role in Tourism promotion and advantages to them
3. Ensuring that MP tourist gets physically invigorated, mentally rejuvenated culturally
enriched and spiritually elevated in MP
4. Introducing the group with basic English skills to communicate with International and
national tourist from southern part of India

Participants were mainly auto rickshaw and taxi drivers operating in & around Orchha. While
majority of them studied till primary and could not speak English there were one or two
participants who used the words Thank you and knew the meaning of it.

Verbal Communication (Dos & Don'ts)
Role play was conducted based on the issues raised while the session and the training need assessment while the beginning of the session. Further the recorded role play of the team was replayed to do the in-depth analysis of Do's and Don'ts and all other relevant strategies to the audiences.

Characteristics of an ideal service provider (Sensitizing the trainees).
7 Behaviour skills Power point presentations, training games and English language basics and simple usages were taught in the interactive lecture method. Which was further revisited by improvising the diction of the participants who were not much comfortable with the few words.

start of training program.

F. Assessment of Training Efficacy via Pre Test & Post Test evaluation
Most fruitful were the results from the trainees who were not at all educated and have picked up
English section well when the questions were prompted by the facilitator in the training.
Almost every participant has shown the minimal growth in scores from maximum 3-5 in pre test to
7-9 in the post evaluations. The interest and enthusiasm in the participants was commendable to
learn and show the changes immediately.
Note : the pre and post test documents can be produced if required .
G. Observations and outcomes of training
Trainees said the training was fruitful because sometimes they have lost tourists due to
English language issues for few words such as “How Much”.
While role play team thy self realized regarding the issues female tourist could face due to
irritant behavior of few of the localities and how further the issues should be tackled.
Trainees pledged on their own to maintain the cleanliness of the city

Participants were Police officers, constables & Head Constables and others in the police department.
While majority of them studied till 8th and were in the profession for long time. Only a few of them
were educated till 12th or even graduated.

F. Impact assessment of Training via Pre Test & Post Test evaluation
Almost 60 percent of the participants showed a significant improvement of 60 + scores in the post
evaluation in comparison to previously obtained one or two marks . Where as those who scored high
as 7 in previous test scored complete 9 in post test trainings. While rest of them also showed
improvement with a minimum score of 40 percent from the previous scores.
Note : the pre and post test documents can be produced if required .
G. Major Observations and Outcomes of the training
Participants realized their role in tourism promotion and what will be the possible benefits
of it to them and to the City
As a result of expectation analysis exercises the participants suggested if there are more sign
boards in the city then it will be convenient for the tourists to find the places and it will be
much more convenient for them to communicate the path to Tourists.
While role play analysis participants realized the importance of patient hearing, and polite
verbal and non verbal communication to the issues of the tourists.
After the perception exercises the Participants also felt the importance of understanding the
tourist perspective and shared how this understanding will be fruitful for them in changing
the practical behavior for them and giving them more apt suggestions which will neither
hinder their safety while stay nor the fun.
