These practices deal not only with math concepts themselves, but also with perseverance, argument construction, and critique. The first mathematical practice implies that students should attempt problems relentlessly without giving up. The second mathematical practice discusses reasoning, both abstractly and quantitatively. The third mathematical practice states that students construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. The fourth mathematical practice says to model with mathematics. The fifth practice instructs students to use math tool strategically. The six mathematical practice says to attend to precision. The seventh practice says to make sense of structure, and the last mathematical practice says to look for rules and patterns. My strength is not with attending to precision, the sixth mathematical practice. I often fail to check my work, or read the problems wrong. This is one area I will have to improve in by working more slowly and checking my work. However, I am strong at making sense of structure and also with reasoning abstractly and quantitatively, the seventh and second mathematical practices. While reading problems, I easily find a way to solve the problem and use my reasoning to develop a way to appropriately solve the problem.
