The event also allowed the establishment of informal exchanges between participants and speakers, in order to deal in depth with the content and resolve any doubts about the different surgical techniques and test re-sults of the Mozo-Grau implants.

By supporting this Conference, Mozo-Grau takes to the countries where it operates the same commitment to specialty training on Implantology as it shows in Spain.

Mozo-Grau and Fabro sign a Distribution Agreement

During the month of June, Mozo-Grau supported with their presence their distributor in China, Baolikangye, during the celebration of the Sino Dental Fair held in Beijing. As on

previous occasions, this meeting was very successful and was attended by most of the implant compa-nies of the industry. Mozo-Grau attended with its own stand where the latest developments of the company were shown.

This past August, Mozo-Grau had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Kuo-Ching Chen of Taiwan to its facilities.

Dr. Chen is a leader in implantology in his country and a great user of Mozo-Grau implants. Dr. Chen also collabo-rates with Mozo-Grau’s distributor in Tai-wan, offering courses on implantology, along with the Coaching Implant Centre (CIC), publishing in the country’s magazines and presenting papers at conferences.Dr. Chen was pleasantly impressed with his visit, which reinforced his interest in con-tinuing to work with Mozo-Grau and its dis-tributor in Taiwan.

Mozo-Grau has recently reached a distribution agreement with Fabro Int´l to commercialize MG dental implants in Taiwan.

This will reinforce Mozo-Grau presence in one of the more im-portant markets in Asia thanks to the experi-ence and competence of Fabro in this county.

On 29 September an update confer ence on implan-tology took place in the city of Warsaw, Poland, the fist organized in this country, where, in 2007, the first subsidiary of Mozo-Grau outside Spain was es-tablished. During these five years, Mozo-Grau Po land has been working hard to implement the same pro-cesses, services and quality that led to its strength in Spain and conferred upon it the maturity needed to expand in ternationally.

The consolidation of this presence is reflected in the fact that it was possible to hold a scientific exchange action in this city, something which has become one of Mozo-Grau’s main hallmarks in Spain. The event attracted over 130 both national and international professionals, organized around three areas: Aesthetics, Current Situation of Science and Special Techniques, presented by eleven relevant

experts. Dr. Fidecki, Mr. Ortola and Prof. Marzena ad-

dressed the issue of aesthetics. On the Current Situ-ation of Science part, Dr. Marco Esposito carried out an interest ing review of studies on post-extraction im plants. Dr. Alberto Fernández, Dr. Francisco Tor-res Lear and Dr. Arturo Sánchez addressed issues on peri-implant dis ease, the development of immedi-ate load ing and bone loss. Prof. Andrzej Wojtowicz and Prof. Carlos Navarro Vila discussed, respectively about implant prosthetic restorations in extreme cases such as cancer patients.

Final section related to spe cial techniques with Dr. Juan Antonio Hueto, guided surgery in complex situations, and Dr. Maciej Jagielak, who made a presenta tion on implant surgery and maxillofacial re-construction.

First Implantology Update Conference in Poland

This second part of year 2012 Mozo-Grau attended as usual the most important im-plantology congresses in Poland. The Quin-tessence Annual Conference was held last November in the town of Jachranka located a few kilometres from Warsaw, where 400 at-tendants were able to enjoy presentations by

doctors as important as Dr. Esposito, Dr. Belser and Dr. Morton, among others.

On 11 and 12 May the Sixth Conference of the Polish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was held also in Jachranka, where Mozo-Grau was present with its stand.

Doctor Jagielakvisit to Mozo-Grau

In April we were visited by Dr. Maciej Jag ielak, President of the Polish Associa-tion of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, from Warsaw, together with his wife, Dr. Anna Jagielak. While at our Headquarters, he was able to become aware in situ of our strict control and production processes. After this visit, Dr. Jagielak started training Polish pro-fessionals using Mozo-Grau implants.

At the same time an exclusive distribution agreement for Russia was signed with the company Vitart Grupp, represented by its Manag-ing Direc tor, Mr. Artiom Grishaev. The mandatory sanitary permissions for commercializa tion in Russia were obtained during the year 2012.

RUSSIA MOROCCO ITALY

Last 2012, Managing Director of Adria Tech Implants company Mr. Emanuele Di Leo, visited Mozo-Grau premises in Valladolid.

During his visit, Mr. Di Leo was able to see, first hand, the strict systems that apply to all processes to achieve complete traceability of our products, with their individual control, thanks to the ‘Implant Card’ and ‘Explorer Code’ systems that Mozo-Grau has recently im-plemented.

Mr. Di Leo was pleasantly impressed with his visit, which reinforced his inter est in dis-tributing Mozo-Grau implants in Italy.

Continuing Mozo-Grau’s international expansion, last October we at-tended the conference organized by the Moroccan Society of Perio-dontology and Im plantology (SMPI) held in Marrakech on 19 and 20 October.

In this forum our company exhib-ited its products to Moroccan implanto-l ogists and exchanged information with the Board of Directors of the Society, who showed great interest in the schedule of courses and conferences that Mo-zo-Grau usually develops in Spain.

Mozo-Grau launches its own line of Scan-bodies. 12 designs covering the full range of rehabilitative solutions offered by Mozo-Grau.

After half a year of development and testing, the Scanbodies line for Mozo-Grau’s Cadcam prosthe-sis, MG Bio-CAM®, was released last September.

The modern design of these Scanbodies pro-vides substantial improvements over those cur-rently on the market, since they have three sepa-rate pieces that join together to form a precise rigid set.

“Rehabilitation of edentulous posterior atrophic mandible: inferior alveolar nerve lateralization by piezotome and immediate implant placement”.Dr. Luis Naval Gías and Dr. J.O. Fernández Díaz, Hospital de la Princesa in Madrid.JOMS (Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) Accepted for publication.

ObjectiveTo demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of the inferior alveolar nerve lateraliza-tion (IANL) technique performed with piezotome ultrasound surgical technology.Materials and methodsTo achieve this, a total of 38 osseointegrated MG-Osseous® implants were used, (11–15 mm in length) in a total of 19 surgical procedures in 15 patients. The results after eight weeks concluded that 14 of the 15 patients, a total of 18 of the 19 procedures (18 of 19 represents 94.73%), showed normal IAN (inferior alveolar nerve) function. Results[…] The implant success rate was 97.36%.

ObjectiveComparative study of two implants with different neck characteristics, prosthet-ics and platforms (machined with external connection and a rough surface and platform change), and marginal bone loss before and after functional loading.Materials and methodsA randomized, prospective radiological study was performed. Eighteen edentu-lous patients were selected. Patients were divided into two groups, according to the type of implant neck used: (a) MG-Osseous® implants with machined surface, without microcoils, external connection and no platform change, and (b) MG-Inhex® implants, with treated surface, microcoils, internal connection and platform change. Mesial and distal marginal bone loss was measured. Results[…] Global mean marginal bone loss with MG-Inhex® Implant was 0.07 ±0.13 and 0.12 ±0.17 mm (as determined 6 and 12 months after prosthetic loading, respectively).

Dr. Carlos Larrucea, from the Uni-versity of Talca (Chile), presents his latest research with Mozo-Grau at the General Session of the IADR

The General Session of the IADR (International Association for Dental Research) was held from 20 to 23 June in Iguazu, Brazil. Dr. Car-los Larrucea Verdugo, Director of postgradu-ate studies on Oral Rehabilitation specializing in implantology, from the University of Talca (Chile), attended the General Session pre-senting to the conference members a study partially funded by Mozo-Grau and in which MG-Inhex® implants are used.

The study “EMG activity in conventional dentures and implant-retained mandibular prosthesis” concludes that people with an implant-retained prosthesis have an increase in muscle activity of the anterior sector and of the muscle surface of the left and right sides, while the conventional prosthesis has little retention and masticatory efficiency causing decrease muscle activity.

On 7 July, 15 relevant specialists gathered in the town of Quintanilla de Onésimo, Valladolid, for scientific exchange meeting that first took place in 2008 on the initiative of Mozo-Grau.

Over the weekend, three topical issues were dis-cussed at length, which this year were coordinated by Dr. Alberto Gonzalez: Implants in the aesthetic an-terior sector; Maxillary sinus floor augmentation and Complications. The warm welcome received by these

meetings, the important exchange of knowledge they represent and the usefulness of sharing presentations have consolidated this meeting year after year, which traditionally ends with a presentation by a renowned personality, unrelated to the Dental Sector.

Experts gathered this year were: Drs. Abel García; Alberto Fernández; Alberto González; Alberto Verrier; Ángel Espeso; Arturo Sánchez; Eduardo Estefanía; Javier Dolz; Mr. Javier Ortola; Miguel Peñarrocha; David

Peñarrocha; Rafael Martín-Granizo; Lourdes Manie gas, Juan Manuel Aragoneses and Mr. Emilio Royo.

The external presentation was made by Profes-sor José María Bermúdez de Castro, co-director of the Archaeological Site of Atapuerca (part of the UNESCO World Heritage List) located in Burgos (Spain). The sub-ject of the presentation was: “We continue to evolve”.

The next Quintanilla meeting is taking place in January 2013.
