10 WAYS TO REDUCE YOUR WASTE!

If your council doesn’t provide a FOGO service, you can compost your food waste at home. You can also talk with your council to let them know that you’d love a FOGO service!

Keep HAZARDOUS MATERIALS OUT of your kerbside bins such as batteries, fluorescent light globes and e-waste. Visit your council website for information about where these items can be recycled.

Buy less, avoid packaging, re-use and repair.

REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF WASTE YOU GENERATE.

Put recyclable material and organics in the RIGHT BIN. Visit your council’s website for information about what goes in each bin.

OUT OF YOUR RECYCLING BIN

Keep bagged material, soft plastics, food and garden organic waste and clothing.....

Keep PLASTIC BAGS OUT of your recycling bin. Plastic bags and soft plastics can be recycled via Redcycle bins at any Coles or

Woolworths store. Visit www.redcycle.net.au to learn about which soft plastics can be recycled.

Put your recycling in the bin loose! Materials in plastic bags CAN’T BE RECYCLED through your kerbside recycle bin and end up in landfill.

REDUCING the amount of FOOD WASTE you produce helps the environment and also saves you money! Visit lovefoodhatewaste.vic.gov.au for ideas and tips to reduce your food waste.

Put FOOD WASTE into the FOGO BIN if your council provides a service. Make sure you only use compostable bags for your food waste.

SAY NO to single use plastics. BYO reusable shopping bags, water bottle, coffee cup, cutlery and drinking straws.
