A History of Movoto’s Mapsearch

Mapsearch from 2005 through 2010

This was Mapsearch as it originally appeared on the site. Movoto was one of the first, if not the first, to allow people to search for homes on a map.

However, all good things must change.

Mapsearch 2.0 in Early 2011

The New Mapsearch had a major UI change that integrated a much bigger map and more search criteria options. It also launched with a fancy new pop

up.

Mapsearch 2.1 - HomeRoam

We introduced HomeRoam in April of this year. It allows you to move the map around at will and have properties appear. You can also see we tinkered with

the search criteria layout on the left hand side.

Mapseach 2.5 – List View

The most asked for feature, by far, was a list

Mapsearch 3.0 – The Present

Our final version now has a solid criteria selection pane, list view with the option to hide it, and fast appearing mouse over bubbles.
