The MYP learner develops fundamental scholarly skills
Students develop different ways to learn & different skills to express what they know.
They become active and organized learners, not waiting to be pushed along.
Each subject has ways to learn that often overlap.
Students reflect on how they learn and soon know their own strong and weak points and build on them.

What Can I do?
Don’t give up Parenting is a 24 hours a day …7 days a
week job. You can’t quit! Consistency over a long period of time will
be effective Don’t feel guilty when saying “NO”
June 2012
What Can I do?
Communicate Don’t stop talking with your children even if
all you get is single word answer. Ask every day what your child did in school. Finally, if you have a question about your
child ask the teacher or see the counselor.
June 2012
What Can I do?
Stay Informed
Ask your child everyday what happened at school. Most of the time there will not be an answer but someday there will be.
Stay in touch with the school. Your child needs to know that you are still involved in their education.

What Can I do?
Be Involved
You may not be able to be a classroom volunteer but you can still be an active member of the PTSA.
Attend school functions whenever possible.
