SCOPE OF WORK:

1. REPLACE ALL STRAINERS. CONTRACTORS ARE TO ENSURE ALL DRAINS ARE WORKING PROPERLY.

2 REMOVE EXISTING ROOFS AND INSULATION DOWN TO ORIGINAL WOOD, STEEL, OR TECTUM DECKING.

3. REMOVE BASE FLASHINGS AND WALL FLASHINGS AND WOOD NAILERS.

4. CLEAN DECK FREE OF ALL DIRT AND DEBRIS.

5. DISPOSE OF WASTE PROPERLY AT OFF-SITE LOCATION.

6. INSPECT DECK FOR DEFICIENCIES AND REPLACE ANY DAMAGED, RUSTED, OR ROTTEN SECTIONS WITH LIKE.

7. REPLACE LEADERS AND PVC BOOTS. CAST IRON BOOTS ARE TO REMAIN.

8. REPLACE ALL SPLASH BLOCKS.

9. SCRAPE ALL EXISTING ROOF DRAINS.

10. WIRE BRUSH AND COAT EXISTING RAILINGS, GAS PIPING, AND FAN COVERS.

11. ANY UNUSED VENTS/FANS/SOIL STACKS TO BE REMOVED AND DECKED OVER (SEE DETAIL - 7/A.2.3). TO BE COORDINATEDWITH OWNER.

INSULATION INSTALLATION:

1. MECHANICALLY ATTACH TYPE II BASE SHEET TO WOOD AND TECTUM DECKS.

2. ON WOOD AND STEEL DECKS, MECHANICALLY ATTACH ISOCYANURATE INSULATION (AND TAPERED INSULATION WHEREINDICATED).

3. ON TECTUM DECKS, INSTALL (USING COLD INSULATION ADHESIVE) ISOCYANURATE INSULATION (AND TAPERED INSULATIONWHERE INDICATED).

4. ON ALL DECKS, INSTALL (USING COLD INSULATION ADHESIVE) ¼” SECUREROCK COVER BOARD INSULATION OVERSUBSTRATE.

MEMBRANE INSTALLATION:

1. STARTING AT LOW END OF ROOF, INSTALL 2-PLY, TRI-LAMINATE COMPOSITE PLY ROOFING MEMBRANE USING COLDASPHALTIC BITUMEN AT A RATE OF 2.5 GALLONS PER SQUARE.

a.ROLL IN PLY SHEETS WITH 75-POUND WEIGHTED ROLLER.

2. STARTING AT LOW END OF ROOF, INSTALL 1-PLY, TRI-LAMINATE, MODIFIED BITUMINOUS, FIRE-RATED ROOFING MEMBRANE CAPSHEET USING COLD ASPHALTIC BITUMEN AT A RATE OF 2.5 GALLONS PER SQUARE.

a. ROLL IN PLY SHEETS WITH 75-POUND WEIGHTED ROLLER.b. USING AN ELECTRIC, HOT-AIR WELDING MACHINE, HEAT WELD ALL LAPS.

3. AT PENETRATIONS, INSTALL NEW COPPER PITCH POCKETS, FILL WITH GROUT AND POUR-ABLE SEALER, AND INSTALL COPPERCAPS/HOODS TO TOP OF PITCH POCKET:

a. STRIP OFF PITCH POCKETS WITH 3-COURSE OF COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC AND GLASS REINFORCEMENT (6”) ANDCOVER WITH 1-PLY CAP SHEET (8”) SET IN COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC.

4. INSTALL NEW 4 LB. LEAD AT ALL SOIL STACKS:a. STRIP IN LEAD FLANGES WITH 3-COURSE OF COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC AND GLASS REINFORCEMENT (6”) ANDCOVER WITH 1-PLY CAP SHEET (8”) SET IN COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC.

5. INSTALL NEW 4 LB. LEAD AT DRAINS:a. STRIP IN LEAD WITH 3-COURSE OF COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC AND GLASS REINFORCEMENT (6”) AND COVER WITH 1-PLY CAP SHEET (8”) SET IN COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC.

6. FLASH PARAPET, HVAC UNITS & FANS, AND ANY 90-DEGREE ANGLE:a. INSTALL CRICKETS BEHIND UNITS AS NEEDED.b. (FLASHING BACKER SHEET) INSTALL (USING COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC) COMPOSITE PLY MEMBRANE A MINIMUM OF8” UP VERTICAL SURFACE AND 4” ONTO FIELD OF ROOF.c. (FLASHING CAP SHEET) INSTALL (USING COLD ASPHALTIC MASTIC) CAP SHEET A MINIMUM OF 8” UP VERTICALSURFACE AND 6” ONTO FIELD OF ROOF.

i. STAGGER THE JOINTS OF THE FLASHINGS A MINIMUM OF 6”.d. INSTALL TERMINATION BAR AND FASTENERS AT THE TOP OF THE BASE FLASHINGS.e. USING AN ELECTRIC, HOT-AIR WELDING MACHINE, HEAT WELD ALL VERTICAL FLASHING LAPS.

7. RE-USE EXISTING COPPER COUNTERFLASHING AND REPLACE WHERE NEEDED.

8. AT METAL EDGE, INSTALL NEW 050 ALUMINUM, FREE-FLOATING METAL EDGE SYSTEM WITH RAISED CANT.a. FOLLOW ANSI/SPRI ES-1 DETAILS TO COMPLY WITH REGIONAL CODE REQUIREMENTS.
