Sir Edmund Hillary was born in 1919 and grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. It was in New Zealand that he became interested in mountain climbing. Although he made his living as a beekeeper, he climbed mountains in New Zealand, then in the Alps, and finally in the Himalayas.

He has impacted New Zealand because he was the first person to climb MT Everest and he was a Kiwi
What school did he go to. I could only find his collage and
he went to University of Auckland.
Did he have any family His father was Percival Augusta's
Hillary and his mother was Gertrude Clark. He had an older sister June and a younger brother Rex. He had 2 wife's. Their names are Louise Mary Rose and June Melgrew. He had 3 kids. 2 girls and 1 boy. The girls names are Sarah and Belinda and the boy is Peter. Peter has also climbed mount Everest. Sadly Sir Edmund Hillary's first wife Louise Mary Rose and Belinda died in a plane crash in 1977.
WHY DID HE DECIDE TO CLIMB MOUNT EVEREST.
because he wanted to show the world that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it! And that if you really try hard, you can accomplish anything you want!

Hillary reached the summit of Mt Everest on 29 May 1953 along with the Sherpa guide, Tensing Norgay.

Yes but On 11 January 2008, Hillary died of heart failure at the Auckland City Hospital at around 9 am (10 January at the age of 88. Hillary's death was announced by New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark at around 11:20 am. She stated that his death was a "profound loss to New Zealand".[ His death was recognised by the lowering of flags to half-mast on all Government and public buildings and at Scott Base in Antarctica.
