Many people in Myanmar are very poor. The only food they have is plants they grow themselves or fish they catch. Missionaries show them better ways to farm so they can have more food.

Many people leave Myanmar to try to find work in other countries. They are treated poorly and their lives are very hard. Missionaries visit their villages and help them to know that Jesus loves them and has a plan for their lives. New believers often host Bible studies in their small homes.

Many people in Myanmar have never heard of Jesus, or they believe that Jesus is just one of many gods. They don’t know that He is the one true God. Missionaries teach people the truth of the Bible and provide Bibles in their own language so they can understand the gospel.

Different people groups speak different languages. Burmese is the main language in Myanmar, but missionaries often have to learn another language, like Shan, as well. They try to provide Scripture and Bible videos in many different languages to share the stories of Jesus.

The people of Myanmar need to know about the one true God. Many believe in different gods that are not real. They believe in things that seem very strange to us. When they hear about Jesus, they don’t always understand that the true God loves them so much that He died for them and rose again so that they could have eternal life. They do not understand that our sin hurts God and that we need forgiveness.

Christians who share the gospel spend a lot of time getting to know people and forming friendships so that they can help people understand that the Bible is true.

Christian workers ask that we pray for the people of Myanmar to hear about Jesus and understand that they can have eternal life with Him.
