This apprenticeship deals with the repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles, from mopeds to lorries. There are more than 32 million vehicles on the UK’s roads, which mean we need plenty of motor vehicle technicians to keep them roadworthy. - Health safety and good housekeeping- Supporting job roles- Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices - Routine light vehicle maintenance- Light vehicle engine mechanical, lubrication and cooling system units and components- Light vehicle fuel, ignition, air and exhaust system units and components - Removing and replacing light vehicle electrical units and components- Removing and replacing light vehicle chassis units and components.

Level 2 - Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Common Modules for all Apprenticeships:

- Rights and responsibilities of workers (including equal opportunities legislation)- Organisation, disciplines and representative structures of the industries concerned- Impact on the sector of public law and policies.

The learners will also learn the principles,construction and operation and testing methods of common mechanical and electrical and electronic systems and components. It also covers the procedures involvedin the removal and replacement of system components and the evaluation of their performance. - vehicle lighting- auxiliary circuits- transmission unit- power unit- drive shafts- axele assemblies - brake assemblies- indicators- starting and charging systems- circuit relays- bulb types- fan and heater- circuit protection- inertia and pre-engaged starter motor- starter ring gear- pinion- starter solenoid- ignition/starter switch- starter relay (if appropriate)- clutch (pre-engaged starter motor)
