• Sounds counterintuitive, but step in their shoes… • Try to to create more opportunities to be together • Get to learn what makes them tick and motivates them • Learn about their personal lives

• Redirect attention to what you do like that the person does • Employees will be motivated by hearing how the team is

counting on their strengths • Reframe negatives in a positive manner

• Bad behavior is often self-protective (e.g. Low self-esteem) • Dig deep; Can’t be motivated unless you get to the root • Should help get a better idea of what motivates them

You don’t have to be best friends, but you need to be able to work with them!
